다중지능 이론을 적용한 음악과 교수-학습 지도방안 연구

Abstract

교육은 사회변화에 따라서 학습내용과 방법도 변화되어야 한다고 본다. 그리고 교과목의 본질을 고려해서 교육의 형태도 다양하게 이루어져야 한다. 이에 최근 교육심리학과 방법론의 변화는 발전적 경향을 제시하고 있다. 그에 따라 음악교육에서도 이러한 경향의 변화에 보조를 맞추는 노력이 필요하다. 본 연구는 학생이 음악에 흥미를 느끼고, 이해하고, 음악가처럼 사고할 수 있도록 돕는 다중지능 이론을 활용한 음악과 교수-학습 지도안의 작성에 대한 연구이다. 다중지능이론은 인지주의적 교육심리학자인 가드너가 주장한 이론으로써 인간은 문화활동을 수행할 때 다양한 지능을 필요로 하며, 인간은 누구나 여러 가지 지능을 소유하고 있고, 각각의 지능은 독립성이 있음을 강조한다. 이 이론은 기존의 지능에 대한 이해를 넘어 인간의 잠재능력의 개발과 함께 음악교육의 실천적 활동을 제시한다. 사실 습득 과정의 학습보다는 종합적 지식의 관점에서 학생들의 생각을 이끌어내고 참여하도록 하며 실생활 속의 경험과 관련지어 통합적인 학습이 이루어지도록 하는데 중점을 두는 효과적인 이론이라고 할 수 있다. 그러므로 교수-학습 과정에서 학생들의 폭넓은 학습과 탁월한 지능의 활용을 위해 다중지능이론을 적용한 지도안을 조직해야 함을 제안한다. 각 학문 또는 지식의 체계에 따라 분화된 교과중심의 학습을 선정하여 조직하던 전통적인 교수방법에서 벗어나 교과간의 장막을 거둬 통합교과적인 광범위하게 재구성된 교과의 지식이나 경험을 음악적 지능뿐만 아니라 여러 지능들과의 상호 작용 속에서 음악교과의 목표에 도달하고 학생의 여러 측면에서의 지능의 조화로운 발달을 도모하고자 한다. 다중지능이론을 음악과 교수-학습에 활용하기 위해서는 이 이론을 적용한 지도방안에 대한 다양하고 체계적이며 지속적인 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이며, 환경의 조성, 학습 방법에 대한 인식변화, 수업 방법 개선을 위한 교사의 노력 및 음악교사로써의 자질 함양이 뒤따라야 할 것이다.

The contents and methods of teaching should be changed as the society changes. And the form of education should be diversified on the essence of each subject. Recently, there has been much advance in educational psychology and its methodology. Teachers of musical education need to keep the pace with the trend. The purpose of this study is to find appropriate ways to help students get interested in music, understand it, and think like a musician through Multiple Intelligence. This theory by a cognitive educational psychologist, Howard Gardner, is that a human being possesses and uses various kinds of intelligence in performing a cultural activity, and each of them is independent of one another. It stresses the practical activity for developing the potential of students in musical education. In fact, it is effective in encouraging students to think from various angles, participate in it, and relate the contents to experiences in their real life. Therefore, in teaching-learning process, it is necessary to build up guidelines applied to multiple intelligence. To promote the harmonious development of students' intelligence, the traditional teaching method based on particular knowledge should be replaced with a method based on the interaction between integrated knowledge and related experience. Applying musical teaching-learning to multiple intelligence requires a multiplicity of constant and well-organized studies. Besides, there should be endeavors to change both our understanding of musical education and the educational environment.
