생활음악문화에서 오카리나의 인식과 활용화 방안 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 서귀포 지역에서오카리나를 배운 후 오카리나 앙상블 활동을 하고 있거나, 현재 오카리나를 배우고 있는 수강생들, 그리고 오카리나를 배우지는 않았지만 서귀포시내의 청소년 문화의집을 이용하면서 오카리나 연주를 자주 듣는 청소년들과 그들을 지도하고 있는 청소년 지도교사 및 학부모들을 대상으로 생활음악문화에서 오카리나의 인식과 활용화 방안을 모색하는데 목적이 있다. 연구의 목적에 따른 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 오카리나 앙상블 단원들과 수강생들, 그리고 연구의 대상자들은 현대 사회의 삶에 있어 생활음악이 필요하다고 생각하고 있으며, 오카리나가 음악생활을 하는데 기여하는 것으로 인식하고 있다. 둘째, 남녀노소 누구나 쉽게 배울 수 있는 오카리나는 현재 지역사회내의 사회음악교육제도를 통하여 이루어지고 있으며, 오카리나를 자아실현의 수단으로 생각하고 있으며, 온 가족이 함께 할 수 있는 악기로 매우 좋다고 조사되었다. 또한 부담 없이 접근할 수 있는 쉬운 악기여서 스트레스 해소의 수단으로 좋으며, 여가 활동에 도움이 된다고 조사되었다. 생활악기로서 오카리나의 장점으로는 악기 값이 저렴하고, 배우기가 쉬워서 좋다는 응답이 많았고, 생활음악 악기로 보는 견해도 높은 것으로 나왔다. 반면 오카리나가 처음 시작할 때는 쉽지만 어느 정도 하다보면 어려운 부분도 있고 한 단계 올라서려면 그만큼의 노력이 필요하므로 어려움을 느끼거나 포기하는 경우도 있어서 이런 현상을 최소화하기 위해서는 재미있고 즐겁게 배울 수 있는 교수법 계발이 필요하다. 앙상블의 기회가 주어진다면 참여하겠다는 응답이 매우 높은 것으로 조사되었고 대중적인 악기로 계속 발전할 것으로 인식하고 있음도 알 수 있다. 또한 중급과정 ․ 고급과정을 희망여부에 대한 답변이 높게 나타났다.

연구문제에 의해 분석한 결과 오카리나를 활용화 시키기 위한 방안으로 첫째, 현재 우리나라는 오카리나가 사설 교육기관이나 지역사회의 문화센터 등에서 활발하게 교육이 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 아직까지는 소수의 기관에서 만 질 좋은 교육이 이루어지고 있는 실정이다. 만약, 공교육 차원에서 오카리나에 대한 보다 체계적이고 전문화된 교육이 이루어지고 그곳을 통하여 전문적인 오카리나 지도자가 나올 때 오카리나가 생활음악문화로서 활용화 할 수 있는 가장 효율적인 방법일 것이다. 둘째, 오카리나를 생활음악문화로 활용화 하기 위해서는 동아리, 또는 앙상블 활동이 이루어져야 한다. 단지 오카리나 교육을 받고 끝나는 것이 아니라 동네마다, 직장마다, 혹은 뜻을 같이 하는 오카리나 애호가들이 모여서 규모가 크든지, 작든지 간에 아름다운 앙상블을 통하여 음악의 아름다움을 즐기고 연주나 봉사활동 등을 통하여 음악적인 나눔이 이루어진다면 생활문화로 활용화 할 수 있을 것이다. 셋째, 아직도 오카리나라는 악기에 대해서는 알려진 것보다 알려지지 않은 신비가 더 많은 악기이므로 질 좋은 교육과 더불어 악기에 대한 연구와 함께 좋은 악기의 제작이 이루어 질 때 오카리나가 생활음악문화로 활용화 될 수 있다. 넷째, 음악을 배우거나 연주하는 차원을 넘어서 오카리나 경연대회, 오카리나 만들기 체험학습 등, 생활음악 관련 산업과 연계된 시너지 효과를 기대할 수 있다. 그렇게 될 때, 오카리나가 누구나 함께 할 수 있는 생활음악문화로 활용화 할 수 있을 것으로 본다.

This study aims at recognition of an ocarina and grope for an plan to make practical application of music in one's living. It is for people who is doing ensemble activities after learning an ocarina or playing it at present and teeagers who have not played the ocarina but are often listening to it by visiting a youth culture center and their guidance instructors and parents in Seogwipo. The results of the research work are as follows. First, members of an ocarina ensemble, trainees, and the objects of the study think music is needed in their modern living and ocarinas contribute to doing music activities. Second, ocarinas easily learned for all are performed through the music educational system in a local community at present and it is researched that many consider ocarinas as a means of self-actualization and a good musical instrument whoever can play. In addition, it is found that an ocarina is accessible without any burden so it is good to release their stress and helpful for leisure activities. As an instrument easily found in life, ocarinas are considered that they aer cheap, easy to learn and accessible. However, there are some people who have difficulty in learning ocarinas or give up learning as it is easy to begin but get harder and requires efforts to better their skills. Thus, it is needed to develop a teaching method, which will make them enjoyable while learning to minimize these matters. Furthermore, it is found that many would like to participate in an ensemble if a chance is given and think that ocarinas will be a popular musical instrument in the future. Besides, answers to "yes" for needs of an intermediate and advanced course are found to be high.

As the result of analyzing the theme, a plan for putting to practical use of ocarinas is as follows. First, while ocarina is now actively educated in a proprietary educational institution or culture center in a local community , good quality of education has been doing only by a few organizations so far. It would be the most effective way to utilize ocarinas in one's living when an structured and specialized education for ocarinas is done in the field of public education and a specialist comes out. Second, club activities or ensemble activities should be done to put to practical use of ocarinas in living. It does not mean people only learn ocarinas but enjoy the beauties of music through ensembles, which lovers of ocarinas get together in neighborhoods or work places and share it with others by a concert or volunteer activities. Third, the facts known of ocarinas are so few that they can be made good use of when the good musical instrument is turned out with high quality of education and a study about the instruments. Lastly, synergy effects related the industry of music in one's living are expected beyond learning music and playing the ocarinas through a ocarina contest, a experience of making an ocarina, and so on. When it comes true, ocarinas would be accessible to everyone.
