아동의 정서지능과 영성지능에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 아동의 정서지능과 영성지능의 상관관계에 대하여 알아보고 이 두 지능의 전체 및 하위영역간의 관계를 파악함으로서 아동의 균형 잡힌 지능발달을 위한 교육프로그램 개발에 도움을 주는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 제주지역 A와 B초등학교 남녀학생 466명을 대상으로 정서지능과 영성지능을 측정하였다. 성별에 따른 정서지능과 영성지능의 차이를 살펴보기 위해 t-test를 실시하였고 두 지능사이의 관계를 알아보기 위해서 Pearson의 상관관계분석을 실시하였으며, 정서지능이 영성지능에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구의 주요 분석결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 아동의 성별에 따른 정서지능의 차이는 정서지능 하위영역 중 정서인식에서 유의미한 차이가 있었으며, 남아가 여아보다 자신과 타인의 정서상태를 좀 더 잘 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아동의 성별에 따른 영성지능은 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 정서지능과 영성지능 사이에는 서로 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으며 정서지능이 영성지능에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과를 토대로 다음과 같은 결론을 내릴 수 있다. 첫째, 아동의 성별에 따른 정서지능의 차이는 없었으나 정서지능 하위영역 중 정서인식에서 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 남아가 여아보다 자신과 타인의 정서상태를 좀 더 정확하게 인식하고 있다는 것을 의미한다. 정서지능은 아동들이 가정과 학교생활에서 교우와의 관계 및 자아성장에 있어서 중요한 측면이므로 정서지능을 지속적으로 발달시킬 수 있는 교육적 환경이 필요하다. 둘째, 아동의 성별에 따른 영성지능은 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 이는 영성지능에서는 남녀의 차이가 없다는 것을 나타낸다. 셋째, 정서지능과 영성지능사이의 상관관계를 보면 이 두 가지 지능은 서로 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 정서지능의 하위영역인 감정이입은 삶의 의미와 목적과 통합적인 에너지에서 정적상관을 보이는 것으로 나타났고 정서조절이 모든 하위 변인들과는 부적상관을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 타인의 감정을 충분히 이해할수록 개인의 가치관을 잘 정립하여 도덕적 행동으로 나타날 수 있으며 개인의 내적인 부분도 잘 통합할 수 있음을 의미한다. 그러나 자신의 정서를 조절 할수록 영성지능의 하위영역 중에서 초월성과 관계성 그리고 삶의 의미와 목적 및 통합적 에너지는 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 정서지능이 영성지능에 미치는 영향력을 분석한 결과 초월성에서는 정서인식이 정적영향을 그리고 관계성에서는 정서조절이 부적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 삶의 의미와 목적에서는 정서인식과 정서활용이 정적영향을 그리고 정서조절은 부적영향을, 통합적 에너지에서는 정서인식과 정서조절이 정적영향을 그리고 정서활용은 부적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 자신과 타인의 정서를 잘 인식하는 아동들이 다양한 경험을 할 때 주관적 관점에 머무르지 않고 객관적으로 정서를 인식할 줄 알며 어려운 일 있을 때 현실상황을 잘 극복할 수 있음을 보여준다. 또한 개인이 정서조절을 잘 할수록 생활 속에서 사람들과 관계를 맺고 유지하는 일이 어렵다는 것을 보여주는 흥미 있는 결과다. 그리고 정서의 인식과 정서활용을 잘 할수록 삶의 목적과 의미도 높아짐을 알 수 있다. 그러나 정서조절을 잘 할수록 삶의 의미와 목적은 낮아지는 것으로 나타나 개인이 지나치게 정서를 조절하는 것은 바람직하지 않을 수도 있음을 보여주고 있다. 또한 정서인식을 잘 할수록 개인의 성장과 신체적 건강 및 내적 통합 에너지는 높아진다는 것을 알 수 있으며 정서조절을 할수록 통합적 에너지는 낮아지는 것을 알 수 있다. 개인이 자신의 정서를 잘 인식하고 표현하며 정서를 적절하게 활용하는 것은 타인과 관계를 맺고 삶의 의미와 목적을 추구하며 생활에서의 어려움을 극복하여 내적통합을 이룰 수 있다는 것을 보여주고 있다. 결론적으로 초등학교 6학년 아동을 대상으로 정서지능과 영성지능에 대하여 조사한 결과 두 지능사이 유의미한 상관관계를 보이고 있다. 정서지능이 영성지능에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 이 두 가지 지능을 충분히 활용함으로서 창의적 사고를 키우고 내재되어 있는 영성지능을 개발시켜 도덕성과 감수성을 키워줄 수 있는 교육적 환경을 만들어주는 것이 바람직하다.

The purpose of this study is to find out the correlation between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence. Specifically, the part these two aspects of the cognitive process play in children's educational programs. For this study, subjects were 466 boys and girls from A and B elementary schools 6th grade in Jeju city. The statistical analysis of the data was analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program to estimate the frequencies, mean, t-test, Pearson's correlation and Multiple Regression. The questionnaire was examined by the Cronbach'α for verification of the reliability of the scales. The t-test was employed to find the differences between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence in the means of their gender. Pearson's correlation analysis was employed to find the relationship between the two intelligences. Multiple Regression was employed to find out how emotional intelligence affects spiritual intelligence. The results of this study were as follows; First, there was a significate diffrence in the abilit to recognize the emotional state of others with the boys exhibiting a higher ability to empathize. Second, There was no significant difference by gender in spiritual intelligence. Third, the result shows that there is a correlation between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence. Emotional intelligence affects spiritual intelligence. The conclusion of this study were as follows; First, there was no significant difference between the emotional intelligence by the gender, but there was a significant difference distinction on the subordinate area of emotional intelligence called emotional recognition. This means that boys have a better recognition of other's emotional state than girls. Emotional intelligence is a significant part of children's school friends relationship and self-growth, therefore, consistently developing educational environment for emotional intelligence is necessary. Second, there was no significant difference by gender related spiritual intelligence. Third, the correlation between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence shows that these two intelligences are related to each other. Test results of the emotional intelligence of Empathy revealed a positive influence on the subfactor of the meaning and purpose of life. However emotional control had a negative influence on this factor. This means that an individual has the ability to set self-values well enough to sufficiently understand an other person's emotional state, which enables moral actions and an ability to coordinate the inner-self. But the data shows that an increase in one's ability to control their emotions resulted in a decrease in their spiritual intelligences such as transcendence, relatedness, meaning, the purpose of life and the integrated energy. Fourth, Emotional recognition has a positive influence on transcendence and emotional control had negative influence on relatedness. Emotional recognition and application has a positive influence on the meaning and purpose of life. Emotional control has a negative influence. Integrated energy level has a positive influence on emotional recognition and control while it has a negative influence on this shows that if a child is able to emotionally recognize themselves and other's than is also able to overcome the hardships of daily life. This also shows that if an individual is controlling their emotions, he/she has difficulty making and maintaining relationships with other people. Being better at emotional recognition and application, increases the purpose and the meaning of life. But being better at emotional control decreases the purpose and the meaning of life, so that being extremely good at controlling with ones emotions may not be preferable. Emotional recognition also increases individual development, physical health, and integrated energy, while being better at emotional control it's decreases integrated energy. An individual's recognition and expression of one's emotional state and applying it appropriately could facilitate relationships with others and the pursuit of meaning and purpose in one's life. And to accomplish internal unification by overcoming hardships of one's life. The conclusion of this study is that there is a meaningful correlation between emotional and spiritual intelligence. The study shows that emotional intelligence impacts spiritual intelligence. The implementation of this study will be by developing. these two intelligences sufficiently together in order to develop creative thinking. And to spiritual intelligence for the development of morality and sensibility.
