어린이 合唱團 實態調査와 指導方法 硏究

Abstract

어린이들에게 합창 음악을 가르친다는 것은 창조물로 하여금 생명력을 불어넣는 신비한 과정이라 할 수 있다. 특히 합창은 다수가 모여, 높낮이를 하나로 모아 공통체 의식을 가지게 하며 아름답게 만들어내므로 어린이들에게는 그들의 성장 과정에 직・간접적으로 영향력을 주어 소중한 경험을 얻게 하는 것이다. 본 연구는 제주도 내의 사설 어린이 합창단의 지도자에 관한 지도 실태를 바탕으로 합창단원들로 하여금 어린이 합창 교육을 어떻게 받아들이고 있으며, 합창활동에 어떠한 태도로 임하는지 그 실태를 파악함으로써 어린이 합창 교육의 효과적인 지도방법과 개선 방안을 제시하기 위하여 연구하였다. 실태조사는 제주도 내에서 단체로 활동하고 있는 9개의 어린이 합창단을 대상으로 하여 제주도내 사설 어린이 합창단의 합창 지도 실태를 조사 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.

1. 지휘자의 지도에 관한 실태조사에서 음악적인 완성도를 높이는 것에 대한 것 은 나름대로 지도 경력이 많은 관계로 무난히 잘 이루어지고 있는 것으로 나 타났다. 2. 문제점으로는 합창단을 구성하는 데에 대한 단원 선발의 어려움이 있었음을 들 수 있다. 어린이들의 합창단 활동에 적합한 연령은 가장 발달된 소리를 낼 수 있는 5, 6학년인데 어린이들이 고학년이 되면 교과 학습 활동과 관련하여 학원에 다니느라 합창단활동에는 많이 제한적이며 중단하는 경우가 많았다. 따라서 단원모집을 위하여는 부득이 저학년인 1, 2학년부터 모집하여 편성을 하고 있었다. 그럼에도 불구하고 단원 편성수요는 부족하여 정기 오디션을 통 하여 선발하지 못하고 일단 편법으로 충원운영 되다보니 일부 합창단인 경우 음정이 불안하거나 음악적 이해 능력이 떨어진 상태에서도 적당히 넘겨야하는 문제에 부딪혀 지휘자가 지도 및 완성도를 높이는 데에 어려움이 뒤따르며 아 울러 합창단은 수준이 저하되고 있었음을 알 수 있었다. 3. 발성 지도의 실태면에서도 많은 지휘자들은 어려움이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 저학년 어린이들이 많이 입단한 합창단과 아이들의 맑은소리를 선호하 는 합창단의 경우는 진성만으로 합창을 지도하고 있었고, 소리의 통일과 음역 이 높은 다양한 곡을 선택하기 위해서 두성을 가르치는 합창단도 있었다. 합창 단에 따라서 저음에는 진성, 고음에는 두성을 쓰는 지휘자도 많았다. 이처럼 어린이 합창의 두성과 진성의 발성법에 필요한 적절한 연구가 따라야 할 것 이다. 4. 어린이 합창을 효과적으로 지도하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 아름다운 소리를 만 들려는 것보다는 합창 음악을 통하여 즐거움을 얻을 수 있도록 하여야 한다.

Teaching choral music to children is a marvelous process of inspiring them with full vitality. Children's experiences as choir members help them to feel a strong sense of community through harmonizing with other children with different voices. The purpose of this thesis is to devise more desirable and effective techniques to teach children choirs, to find improvements based on a survey of conductors in Jeju private children's choirs, and to gather their opinions and attitudes in this field. The subjects for this survey are nine children choir members in Jeju, and through research on the actual condition of Jeju private children choirs my conclusions are listed like this:

1. In terms of conductors, they are so experienced that they are gaining amazing achievements in an attempt to reach the pinnacle of musical perfection. 2. One problem they have is that it is difficult to draw members. Generally, children of grade 5-6 in primary school have highly-developed voices. In reality, children of that age are apt to be very busy with school and private tutoring that they move away from joining choirs. Therefore, conductors draw their members from grade 1-2 in primary school rather than holding auditions. As a result, the standard of children choirs seem to be in decline.

3. Another problem they have is that conductors have some difficulties teaching vocal exercises. Based on my observations, some leaders teach only genuine voice to grade 1-2 children in primary school. Others teach only head voice to their children because it's easy for them to choose diverse music for the choir. Also, there are choir conductors who teach both genuine voice for the low-pitched tone, and head voice for the high-pitched tone. More studies on vocal exercises for children choirs should be done.

4. To lead the choir effectively, leaders encourage their children to find joy through musical performances, rather than focus too much on vocal exercises.
