죽음주제 뫔놀이 굿을 통한 노인의 경험에 대한 실행연구

Abstract

본 연구는 죽음주제 뫔놀이 굿을 통한 노인의 경험을 위해 질적 연구방법 중 실행연구(action research)의 방법으로 진행되었다. 노인들과의 만남에 대하여 상호간에 고민하고, 노인복지 현장의 질적인 변화를 위한 목적을 갖고 연구문제를 다음과 같이 설정하였다.

첫째, 뫔놀이 굿 적용 집단에서 노인들이 경험한 것은 무엇인가? 둘째, 노인들의 죽음 주제는 어떻게 전개되는가? 셋째, 뫔놀이 굿 적용과 연구진행에서 노인들의 반응과 연구자의 반성적 실천은 어떻게 전개되는가?

위의 연구문제를 해결하기 위해 제주시 K읍 D복지관 노인대상 '하늘 소풍 준비하기'프로그램 중 8회기 진행된 죽음 주제 집단에 뫔놀이 굿을 활용하여 실시하였다. 연구 참여자는 프로그램에 참여한 20명 중에 출석률이 높은 15명이다. 연구 참여자들은 K읍에 거주하고 있는 노인들로, 연구 참여자의 특성은 대부분이 경노당과 노인회 임원들로 이루어졌고, 남자노인 13명과 여성노인 2명이다. 본 연구는 죽음주제 집단에 뫔놀이 굿을 활용하는 과정을 기술하고, 참여한 노인들의 경험을 기술하고 분석한 실행연구이며, 자료 수집은 참여관찰, 연구보조자 서술형 관찰일지, 면담, 진행자일지, 비디오 촬영자료, 연구보조자 E메일 답변, 결과물 들여다보기 등을 통하여 이루어졌다. 그리고 자료 분석은 전사 및 메모작업, 코딩하기, 주제정하기로 이루어졌다. 타당성 확보와 윤리문제는 트라이앵글레이션(Triangulation), 연구현장 구성원에 의한 연구결과의 평가, 참조자료의 사용, 자기반성의 과정을 거쳤고, 연구절차는 뫔놀이 굿 적용 계획, 1차 뫔놀이 굿 적용 활동, 1차 활동에 대한 되돌아보기 및 2차 활동계획, 2차 ?떨樗? 굿 적용 활동, 1,2차 활동에 대한 되돌아보기 및 면담 계획, 심층면담, 총체적인 해석 및 평가의 과정을 거쳐 논문쓰기로 종결되었다. 이상의 연구를 통해 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다.

첫째, 죽음주제 집단에 뫔놀이 굿 활용은 노인들에게 특별한 경험(만남)과 받아들여짐(수용), 어루만짐(상호작용), 묵은 걸 풀어내기(감정정화), 새롭기 바라보기(관점의 변화)의 의미로 받아들여졌다.

둘째, 뫔놀이 굿 집단을 통하여 죽음에 대하여 깊이 생각해 볼 수 있는 기회와 봉사활동 등을 하면서 바르게 사는 것이 죽음에 대한 준비라고 받아들였다.

셋째, 뫔놀이 굿 활용하기의 연구진행은 실행연구를 통한 연구자의 자기반성과 실천의 장이 되었고, 연구에 대한 확신과 전문성 신장의 기회가 되었다.

이상의 결론은 활동적이면서도 심리적인 접근 형식인 뫔놀이 굿이 노인에게 특별한 경험과 변화를 제공하였으며, 죽음에 대하여 깊이 생각해 볼 수 있는 기회를 제공하였음을 알 수 있다. 또한 연구자 자신도 이러한 과정에서 자기반성과 확신을 획득하였음을 알 수 있다. 즉, 이러한 실행연구 결론은 참여자인 노인과 연구자 모두에게 의미가 있다는 사실을 시사한다. 아울러 진행연구자로서 준비한 결과들이 더 많은 진행연구자들을 만들어 현장의 질적인 변화가 이루어지길 기대한다.

This study was performed by the method of action research among the qualitative research methods in order to understand the experience of aged people through MUAMNORI GUT(body-mind drama) with the title of death. With the purpose of mutual consideration on the encounters with aged people and accomplishment of qualitative change in the elderly welfare scene, the following study questions have been set up.

First, what are the things that aged people have experience in a group that has applied the MUAMNORI GUT? Second, how is the title of death by aged people developed? Third, In the application of MUAMNORI GUT and performance of research, how are the reaction of aged people and reflective practice of researcher developed?

In order to solve the study questions above, the research was performed utilizing the MUAMNORI GUT on a group with the title of death that has performed 8 session in the 'Preparing the Sky Field Trip' targeting the aged people of D welfare center in K town of Jeju-si. The participants of research are 15 people with highest attendance among 10 people who have participated in the program. The research participants are the aged people who are living in K town. The characteristics of research participants are that most of them are staffs of senior citizen center and senior citizen's association with 13 old men and 2 old women.

This study is an action research that has described the process of utilizing MUAMNORI GUT on a group with title of death and analyzed the experience of aged people who have participated. The gathering of data in this study has been accomplished through participated observation, research assistant narration type observation journal, interview, performer's journal, video filming data, e-mail reply sheet of research assistant and looking into the results, etc. The data analysis of this study has been accomplished through transcription and taking notes, coding and deciding the title. In this study, securing the validity and the ethics issue have gone through the processes of triangulation, member checking, referential adequacy materials and self-reflectivity. The research process of this study has gone through the processes of MUAMNORI GUT application plan, primary MUAMNORI GUT application activity, looking back on the primary activity and secondary activity plan, secondary MUAMNORI GUT activity, looking back on primary and secondary activities with interview plan, in-depth interview as well as general interpretation and evaluation to be concluded by writing the thesis.

The conclusion gained through the research above are as follows. First, the utilization of MUAMNORI GUT on the group with title of death have been accepted by aged people as the significance of special experience (encounter) and acceptance (reception), appeasement (interaction), relieving the old things (emotional purification) and looking at things in a new standpoint (change of perspective) Second, it has been accepted as an opportunity of changing the perspective that living in a righteous way is the preparation on death through the opportunity to think deeply about death and volunteer activities, etc through the MUAMNORI GUT. Third, the performance of utilizing the MUAMNORI GUT research became a scene of self-reflection and practice by the researcher through the action research while becoming an opportunity for assurance of research and growth of specialty.

Through the conclusions above, it could be found that the MUAMNORI GUT which is a type of metal approach have provided special experience and change for the aged people while providing the opportunity to think deeply about death. Also, it could be found that the researcher has also gained self reflection and assurance from this process. In other words, it suggests the fact that the process of this action research is meaningful for both the aged people and researcher who are participants. Moreover as a performing researcher, it is expected that a qualitative change of the scene would take place by the prepared results creating more performing researchers.
