초등학교 육상선수들의 일반적 특성에 따른 경기 전 경쟁상태불안 수준의 차이

Abstract

본 연구는 제주도 초등학교 육상선수들의 경기 전 경쟁상태불안 수준을 성별, 경력별, 학년별, 종목별, 성적별로 나누어 비교 분석함으로써 선수들의 경기력 향상은 물론 선수를 직접 지도하는 코치나 일선 지도자들에게 기초 자료를 제시하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 제주특별자치도 교육감기 육상대회 및 제주시, 서귀포시 교육장배 육상경기대회(2007-2009)에 참여한 3～6학년 남․여 선수 400명을 대상으로 Martens, Vealey & Burton(1990)에 의해 개발된 경쟁불안 검사(Competitive State Anxiety Inventory : CSAI-2)를 실시하였고, 통계처리는 SPSS/win Program v. 12.0을 이용하였으며 독립표본 t검정, 일원배치분산분석(One-Way ANOVA) 및 사후 분석(Scheffe)을 실시하였다. 이러한 연구방법의 과정을 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다.

첫째, 제주도 내 초등학교 육상경기 선수들의 성별에 따른 경쟁상태불안에서는 여자선수가 모든 요인에서 높게 나타났지만 통계적으로 유의성이 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 제주도 내 초등학교 육상경기 선수들의 종목에 따른 경쟁상태불안에서는 인지적 상태불안과 신체적 상태불안에서 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 인지적 상태불안에서는 필드종목선수가, 신체적 상태불안에서는 트랙종목선수가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

셋째, 제주도 내 초등학교 육상경기 선수들의 성적에 따른 경쟁상태불안에서는 신체적 상태불안과 상태자신감에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 신체적 상태불안과 상태자신감 모두 비우수선수가 우수선수보다 높은 것으로 나타났다.

넷째, 제주도 내 초등학교 육상경기 선수들의 학년에 따른 경쟁상태불안에서는 상태자신감만 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 사후분석 결과 3, 5, 6학년선수에서 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 5학년, 6학년, 3학년 순으로 상태자신감이 높게 나타났다.

다섯째, 제주도 내 초등학교 육상경기 선수들의 경력에 따른 경쟁상태불안에서는 상태자신감만 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 사후분석 결과 경력이 높을수록 상태자신감이 높게 나타났다.

This study has the purpose to improve athletes' ability to control their psychological condition and shorten the score by examining the competitive state anxiety and the effect of it on the matches. In order to achieve this research goal, 400 athletes, who participated in the athletic sports competition for Office of Education Athletic Meet of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, were grouped in terms of genders, competition categories, ability levels, grades and careers, and their somatic and cognitive anxiety as well as status self-confidence were measured using Marten's Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2(CSAI-2). Statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS. Statistical methods used were t-statistics and one-way ANOVA. The following conclusions were derived. First, there is no statistical difference in level of competitive state anxiety before competition according to the elementary school athletes' genders. But female athletes' level of competitive state anxiety showed a higher level than male athletes' in all primary factors. Second, there is statistical difference in level of cognitive and somatic state anxiety before competition according to the elementary school athletes' competition categories. Field Athletes' level of cognitive state anxiety showed a higher level than Track Athletes'. However, Track Athletes' level of somatic state anxiety showed a higher level than Field Athletes'. Third, there is statistical difference in level of somatic state anxiety and state confidence before competition according to the elementary school athletes' ability level. An inferior athletes' somatic state anxiety and state confidence showed a higher level than a superior athletes'. Fourth, there is statistical difference in the level of state self-confidence before competition according to the elementary school athletes' grades. Fifth grade athletes were highest followed sixth and third. Fifth, there is a statistical difference in level of state self-confidence before competition according to the elementary school athletes' careers. The higher the careers, the higher state self-confidence became.
