Abstract

The moderns who live today have the chance to contact with many types of music and can listen to the type of music which they prefer. The form of music has changed much because of the continuous activities from the musicians. We know that our music techniques have changed in the accompany through the ages, and this means development. Even though, brass instruments have been used for hundreds of years, most of them have been standardized recently, and some of them aren't even fixed, yet. For instance, Walter Piston mentioned that the D-trumpet would rarely appear in recent orchestras when he first started his orchestra technique teaching text in 1952. However, after this trumpet players started using this instrument and now, we can frequently hear it these days. Musicians are giving much interest on music in the original ages. And because of this, we are confronting many problems of the brass instruments of those days. If we want to play a concert based on true meaning then we must comprehend that the strange quality of the trumpet and horn was natural. Further enough, by the middle of the 19century, the instruments' characters and form were dominated from these restricted elements. And we must change this instrument group also because of these reasons. Today's trumpets have only one part of restriction, and they are the most flexible, so they are rapidly settling with other instruments. Also, in orchestras which are fast and majestical, they express intensity and tension. And in orchestras which are slow and calm, they are gentle and sweet. Moreover, they lead the whole part in a wind ensemble. In jazz and light music, fascinative melody and excellent technical skills have made it develop as the representative brass instrument. Therefore, this paper work has been made to help trumpet players and majors understand the trumpet's development history from past to present and the main solo playing parts of orchestral music.
