EBS 수리영역 수능강의 시청 현황 및 만족도 조사

Abstract

2004년 4월부터 전국의 수험생을 위한 EBS 교육방송이 '사교육비 절감'이라는 목표를 가지고 EBS 위성 TV채널과 EBSi 인터넷을 통해 'EBS 수능강의'를 무료로 제공하기 시작하였다. 학생들이 쉽게 접할 수 있는 인터넷 방송을 사용함으로써 학생들의 EBS 수능방송에 대한 접근률을 높이며, 수능강의와 수능시험과의 연계를 강화함으로써 앞으로 학교수업과 교육방송만으로 충분히 수능시험 대비가 가능하도록 하는데 의의가 있다. 또한 농어촌 및 저소득층 자녀에게도 대도시 지역의 학생들과 실질적으로 동일한 교육 기회를 제공하여 경제적인 여건으로 인한 교육의 불평등을 해소하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 EBS 수능강의 중 수리영역에 대한 시청 현황은 어떠한지, 만족도는 어떠한지, 그리고 학습효과는 어떠한지를 알아보고, 이들 결과를 바탕으로 앞으로 EBS 수리영역 수능강의가 나아가야할 방향을 알아보고자 한다. 본 연구는 제주도에 위치하고 있는 인문계고등학교 3학년(2011년 기준)에 재학 중인 남·여 학생 950명을 대상으로 설문하였으며 총 836부를 최종으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 조사 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, EBS 수능강의 수리영역 시청 경험이 있는 학생은 전체 인원의 42.1% 정도이며, 시청 경험이 없는 학생은 57.9% 정도이다. EBS 수능강의의 내용이 수능 시험에 많이 출제되었고, 앞으로 더 많이 반영하겠다는 교육과학기술부의 발표에도 불구하고 고등학생들의 EBS 수능강의 수리영역 시청경험이 예상만큼 높지 않았다. 둘째, EBS 수능강의 시청경험 여부에 따른 사교육을 받고 있는 학생들에 대한 분석에서는 시청경험이 있는 학생들은 사교육을 받지 않는 학생들이 높게(56.6%) 나타나고 있으며, 시청경험이 없는 학생들에서는 사교육을 받고 있는 학생들이 높게(64.9%) 나타나고 있다. 또한 EBS 수능강의 시청 학생들의 만족도를 살펴보면 사교육을 받고 있는 학생들의 만족도는 4.28점이며, 사교육을 받고 있지 않은 학생들의 만족도는 4.47점으로 나타났다. 셋째, 지역에 따른 EBS 수능강의 시청경험은 서귀포지역이 전체 시청 경험 인원의 66.1% 로 제주시지역 보다 높은 시청경험을 보였고, 학생들의 만족도는 서귀포 지역이 제주시 지역에 비해 높은 만족도인 5.73점으로 나타났다.

The free EBS CSAT instruction programs for all the students in the nation started airing in April 2004 by EBS through EBS satellite broadcasting channels and the EBSi internet network with the purpose of reducing private education expenses. It aims to provide the students with the instruction programs that allow easy access and are closely tied to the content of CSAT so that the students don't have to depend on other education programs or lessons than the school classrooms and the EBS instruction programs anymore. Besides, to solve the educational inequality by student's economical background, equal educational opportunity may be practically granted to the students living in rural area or the students with poorest background by this programs.

This study aims to propose the desirable direction of the EBS CSAT instruction program in mathematics based on the investigation of the viewing status, the degree of viewer's satisfaction and overall effectiveness of learning. For this study, 836 effective responses to the questionnaire from 950 3rd grade male and female students, as of 2011, of an academic high school located in Jeju Island were analyzed.

The result of the study is summarized as follows.

First, 42.1% of the students have watched the instruction program in mathematics. The number of the high school students who have watched the program is not higher than expected considering the content of the EBS CSAT instruction program has been selected as the major part of the examination problems of the CSAT and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has announced that more content of the EBS CSAT instruction program will be reflected to the CSAT. Second, among the students having watched the instruction program, the students who do not take any type of private education(56.6%) have watched the instruction program more than the students who have, while among the students not having watched the instruction program, the students who are taking the private education(64.9%) have never watched the instruction program more than the students who are not. The degree of satisfaction with the instruction program of the students who take private education is 4.28 while that of the students who don't take private education is 4.47. Third, the students living in Seoguipo area (66.1%) have watched the instruction program more than the students living in Jeju city area. The degree of satisfaction of the students living in Seoguipo area (5.73) is higher than that of the students living in Jeju city area.
