조선후기 풍속화 감상을 활용한 미술 지도방안 연구

Abstract

오늘날의 현대 사회는 세계화의 흐름 속에서 많은 지식과 경험이 요구되고 있으며 미술교육에서도 다양한 문화의 체험과 감상이 중요시 되고 있다. 그러나 현재 우리나라의 미술교육은 전통미술인 한국화에 대한 올바른 이해와 인식이 부족하며, 특히 서구 지향적인 교육으로 인해 전통 문화와 미술의 입지가 좁아지고 있다. 이러한 측면에서 볼 때 우리 문화의 가치와 정체성을 잃지 않도록 관심을 가져야 하겠고 나아가 세계화의 흐름 속에서 한국화의 계승과 발전을 위한 노력이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한국화 중에서도 학생들이 흥미를 가지고 그 시대를 이해하는데 효과적인 조선후기 풍속화를 선정하였다. 조선후기 풍속화는 우리가 경험하지 못한 그 시대의 역사와 생활상을 알게 해주고 우리 민족의 개성과 정서, 독창적인 미의식이 반영되어 있음을 알게 해준다. 또한 풍속화에 드러난 옛 선조들의 삶의 모습을 통하여 현재의 삶과 비교해보고, 그 속에서 다양한 경험의 모습을 주제로 표현하는 과정을 통해 창의적인 사고력과 폭넓은 인식을 키울 수 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구자는 다양한 삶의 모습을 표현한 조선후기 풍속화 작품 감상 교육을 통하여 학생들로 하여금 미적안목과 표현력을 향상시키고, 이해와 감상활동을 통한 표현활동이 이루어지는 수업의 지도방법을 제시하였다. 수업의 전개를 위해 단행본, 화집, 논문, 인터넷 자료 등을 참고하여 이해․감상활동을 도왔으며 참고 작품을 재구성하는 표현활동을 통해 창의적인 주제표현과 조형적 사고력을 신장할 수 있도록 교수 학습 과정안을 제시하여 실제 수업에 적용시켰다. 이러한 이해․감상․표현활동을 통합한 학습 지도의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조선후기 풍속화는 그 시대의 역사, 문화, 생활, 사상, 미의식 등 다양한 측면을 반영하고 있어서 그 시대의 문화를 체험할 수 있다. 이를 통해 학생들은 조상들의 생활양식이나 정신세계, 문화적 특징을 이해 할 수 있었다. 둘째, 조선후기 풍속화의 조형적 특징을 이해하기 위한 표현활동을 통해 평소 다뤄보지 못했던 재료를 사용해봄으로써, 용구의 특성과 사용법 등을 알게 되었다. 셋째, 다양한 풍속화 작품을 감상하고 재구성하는 과정에서 표현 주제가 확장 되었고 학생들의 생각과 의도에 맞게 창의적으로 표현할 수 있게 되어 표현력 신장에 도움이 되었다. 넷째, 작품 감상과 발표를 통해 사고를 활성화하고 자신감을 갖게 되었으며 전통회화 수업을 즐기게 되었다. 다섯째, 오늘날의 풍속화 그리기 제작을 통해 무심히 지나치던 평범한 일상을 되돌아보고 자신에 대해 올바르게 이해하는 계기가 되었다. 앞으로 한국화 교육의 발전과 한국화 수업을 위한 창의력 신장, 표현 활동의 확대를 위해 지속적인 연구와 노력이 계속된다면 우리 문화의 전통을 올바르게 이해하고 창의적인 사고력을 키우는데 도움을 줄 것으로 기대한다.

Today's modern society requires a lot of knowledge and experience in the flow of globalization, and also emphasizes various culture experience and appreciation in art education. However, the present art education in Korea lacks a correct understanding and awareness about traditional art-Korean painting, and the position of traditional culture and art is losing ground because of especially the West-oriented education. In this regard, we should take interest in our culture not to lose worth and identity, and further we need effort to develop and to inherit Korean painting in the flow of globalization. On this, I chose a genre painting in the late Choson dynasty among Korean painting in this study because a genre painting is effective to make students having an interest in it and understanding the period. A genre painting in the late Choson dynasty lets us know the history and lifestyle of that time we don't have experience, and reveals being reflected sentiment and individuality, creative aesthetic consciousness of our own nation. In addition, we can developing ability to creatively think and wide awareness through the process of expressing a reflection of various experience as the subject by comparing current our lives and the lives of ancestors in a genre painting. To this end, I suggest teaching method by using expressive activities through understanding and appreciation activity, that makes students being able to develop their ability to look at art and to improve expressiveness through a appreciation education of a genre painting in the late Choson dynasty. To progress classes, I referred to books, the collected paintings, thesis, internet material, etc. to help understanding and appreciation activity, and applied to real classes to improve creative themes expression and formative thinking skills through expression activity to reconstitute artworks. Result of teaching which combines these understanding․appreciation․expression activity is as follows: A genre painting in the late Choson dynasty reflects in various aspects like that periods history, culture, life, ideology, aesthetic sense, students hereby were able to understand the world of spirit of ancestor, a lifestyle, and cultural characteristic. The second, I have learned the instruction and a characteristic of tools by using the materials which usually never handled through expression activity to understand a formative characteristic of a genre painting in the late Choson dynasty. The third, the process of appreciating and reconstituting various a genre painting helps students to improve creatively expressible expressiveness in accordance with thinking and purpose by expanding the expressing subject. The fourth, students were able to invigorate thought and have confidence through appreciation and presentation as well as can enjoy traditional art class. Finally, the fifth, to work a genre painting was the opportunity to look back on inadvertently passing the ordinary daily life and to understand rightly about oneself. If ongoing a study and efforts is continued to develop Korean painting education, to improve creative thinking, and to expand express activities, it can be expected to give students a helping to understand rightly about tradition of our culture and to develop a creative thinking.
