중학생의 완벽주의성향과 특성불안이 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향

Abstract

이 연구는 중학생의 완벽주의성향과 특성불안이 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향을 알아보고 중학생의 학교생활적응을 높이기 위한 교육프로그램 개발에 도움을 주는데 목적이 있다. 연구 목적을 위해 제주 지역 3개의 중학교 총 407명을 대상으로 완벽주의 성향, 특성불안 그리고 학교생활적응을 측정하였다. 성별에 따른 완벽주의성향, 특성불안과 학교생활적응을 알아보기 위해위해 t-test를 실시하였고, 중학생의 완벽주의 성향, 특성불안 및 학교생활적응의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관관계분석을 실시하였으며, 중학생의 완벽주의성향과 특성불안이 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향력을 알아보기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구의 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 연구 대상 중학생의 성별에 따른 완벽주의성향, 특성불안, 학교생활적응의 차이를 조사한 결과 완벽주의성향의 하위변인 중 타인-지향적 완벽주의, 특성불안, 학교생활적응의 하위변인 중 학교수업적응에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 타인-지향적 완벽주의와 학교수업적응은 여학생보다 남학생이 높게 나타났고, 특성불안은 남학생보다 여학생이 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 완벽주의성향에서 자기-지향적 완벽주의성향은 전체 학교생활적응에 정적상관을 보였고, 타인-지향적 완벽주의성향은 교사관계와 학교수업적응에 정적상관을 보였다. 특성불안은 전체 학교생활적응에 부적상관을 보였다. 셋째, 중학생의 완벽주의성향의 하위요인인 자기-지향적 완벽주의성향은 전체 학교생활적응에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 타인-지향적 완벽주의성향은 교우관계와 학교규칙에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특성불안은 전체 학교생활적응에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과를 토대로 다음과 같은 결론을 내릴 수 있다. 첫째, 중학생의 성별에 따른 타인-지향적 완벽주의성향, 특성불안, 학교수업적응은 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 남학생이 여학생보다 타인-지향적 완벽주의 성향과 학교수업적응을 잘하고 여학생이 남학생보다 더 높은 불안반응을 보이고 있는 것을 의미한다. 특성불안은 잠재적이고 개인마다 다른 강도로 나타나는 불안으로 인해 상황을 위협적으로 지각할 수 있기 때문에 여학생들이 특성불안을 낮출 수 있는 교육적 환경이 필요하다. 둘째, 자기-지향적 완벽주의성향은 학교생활적응에 정적인 상관을 미쳤고, 특성불안은 부적인 상관을 미쳤다. 이는 중학생의 완벽주의성향과 특성불안이 학교생활적응에 있어 차이가 있다는 것을 나타낸다. 셋째, 완벽주의성향에서 자기-지향적 완벽주의성향은 전체학교생활적응에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤고 특성불안은 전체학교생활적응에 부정적인 영향은 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 자기-지향적 완벽주의 성향은 자신에게 높은 기대와 완벽함을 부과하는 것으로 학교생활에 있어 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 개인이 느끼는 특성불안은 학교생활전반에서 부정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 결과적으로 중학생의 완벽주의 성향과 특성불안은 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향에 있어 차이를 보이고 있다. 완벽주의 성향에서는 자기-지향적 완벽주의 성향이 학교생활적응에 가장 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 자아중심성이 강한 초기 청소년기에 타인의 영향을 받기 보다는 자신의 기준에 의해 행동을 하는 경향이 높기 때문에 이러한 결과가 나타나는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 선행 연구에서는 완벽주의 성향이 불안의 하위요인으로 부적응적인 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났으나 본 연구에서는 완벽주의 성향의 긍정적인 면을 부각 할 수 있게 되었다. 이를 통해 완벽주의 성향이 중학생들에게 도움이 된다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 중학생 완벽주의 성향을 높일 수 있는 교육 및 상담프로그램을 만들어 학교생활적응을 높일 수 있도록 해야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study is that how perfectionism tendency and trait anxiety of middle school student affect their school life then help to develop their training program on adjustment. In order to research, we measured perfectionism-tendency, trait anxiety and school adjustment, total 407 student of 3 middle school who live in Jeju. We took some tests want to know how connect between perfectionism -tendency and school adjustment according to sexuality by t-test, how connect between perfectionism-tendency of student, trait anxiety and school adjustment by Correlation Analysis, how perfectionism and trait anxiety affect school adjustment by Multiple Regression Analysis. The result of this study follows; First, as a result of what is the difference among perfectionism, trait anxiety and school adjustment in accordance with sexuality, Significant difference in middle school adjustment was showed that other-orientation in perfectionism, trait anxiety. Other-orientation perfectionism of male students and school adjustment are higher than female students whereas trait anxiety tendency of female students was higher than male students. Second, self-orientation perfectionism had a positive correlations with school adjustment. Other-orientation perfectionism had a positive correlation with their teacher and school adjustment. But, trait anxiety had a negative correlation with entire school adjustment. Third, Self-orientation perfectionism had a positive influence entire school adjustment, Trait anxiety had a negative influence entire school adjustment. Self-orientation is to give to them-selves to expectation or perfection. It could have a positive influence their school adjustment. The conclusion if this study were as follows; First, Other-orientation perfectionism, trait anxiety and school adjustment according to the sexuality are significant difference. It means that the boys tend to be more other-orientation perfective and better at school adjustment than girls that's why the girls feel more anxious reaction than boys. So the girls need educational environment to reduce their trait anxiety because, trait anxiety could be turned out to make them to feel threatening. Second, Self-orientation perfectionism had a positive correlations with school adjustment, Trait anxiety had a negative correlation with school adjustment. It means perfectionism and trait anxiety are totally different in their school adjustment. Third, Self-orientation perfectionism had a positive influence entire school adjustment, Trait anxiety had a negative influence entire school adjustment. Self-orientation perfectionism is to give to them-selves to expectation or perfection. It could have a positive influence their school adjustment. As a result, Perfectionism of student and trait anxiety are different to affect school adjustment. In perfectionism tendency, Self-orientation perfectionism tendency is the most positive effect to school adjustment. It means that In adolescence when egocentrism is strong to be affected than tend to do something by their standard. In previous research, Perfectionism tendency is shown as a negative roll, but present research, we can have emphasized perfectionism tendency. We have found perfectionism tendency help students through the research. We should make a conversation program and education that helps to grow student's perfectionism tendency then help to adapt to their school adjustment.
