제주도내 가톨릭 청소년의 영성지능과 교우관계가 스마트폰 사용에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구는 제주도내 가톨릭 청소년의 영성지능과 교우관계가 스마트폰 사용에 미치는 영향에 대하여 알아보고 청소년 스마트폰 사용 과몰입을 예방하기 위한 영성교육 프로그램 개발에 도움을 주는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 제주도에 소재한 가톨릭 성당 주일학교 청소년 287명을 택하여 영성지능과 스마트폰 사용, 교우관계를 측정하였다. 청소년의 영성지능과 교우관계 및 스마트폰 사용의 일반적 경향을 알아보았고, 청소년의 영성지능과 교우관계, 스마트폰 사용과의 관계를 알아보기 위해서 Pearson의 상관관계분석을 실시하였으며, 청소년의 영성지능이 교우관계와 스마트폰 사용에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 나타난 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영성지능과 교우관계 및 스마트폰 사용 간에는 유의미한 상관을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 청소년의 영성지능은 교우관계와 유의미한 정적결과를 보였고 스마트폰 사용과는 유의미한 부적결과를 보였다. 이는 영성지능이 높을수록 교우관계에 개방적이고 만족하며 스마트폰 과몰입에 빠지지 않는다는 것을 의미한다. 둘째, 청소년의 영성지능은 교우관계와 스마트폰 사용에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 영성지능이 높을수록 교우관계가 원만하다는 것을 의미한다. 또한, 스마트폰 과다 사용시 내성이나 일상생활장애 등의 문제를 감소시키는데 영향을 준다는 것을 의미한다. 셋째, 청소년의 교우관계가 스마트폰 사용에는 부분적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 교우관계의 하위요인 중 만족감은 스마트폰 사용과 부적영향을, 친근감은 정적영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 따라서 교우관계에서 만족감은 스마트폰 과다사용으로 인한 일상생활 장애 등의 문제가 감소하는 반면 친근감이 높을수록 스마트폰 과사용으로 인한 문제가 증가될 수 있다는 것을 의미한다. 결론적으로 제주도내 가톨릭 청소년을 대상으로 영성지능과 교우관계 및 스마트폰 사용간의 관계를 조사한 결과 이들은 유의미한 상관관계를 보이고 있다. 또한 교우관계가 스마트폰 사용에 부분적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 영성지능을 높이는 교육과 교우관계 증진 프로그램방법을 계발하는 것이 청소년들의 스마트폰 과몰입을 예방하고 건전한 교우관계를 이루어 사회성 발달에 도움을 줄 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of Roman Catholic adolescents' spiritual intelligence and a friendship on smartphone use. This study is to help develop spiritual education program to prevent adolescents' smartphone overindulgence. Among Sunday school students in Catholic churches in Jeju, 287 teenagers are randomly chosen. Their spiritual intelligence, friendship and smartphone use are assessed. The general tendencies on their spiritual intelligence, friendship and smartphone use are firstly checked. To find out the relation between spiritual intelligence and a friendship and smartphone use, Pearson's correlation analysis is conducted. To figure out the effects of spiritual intelligence on a friendship and smartphone use, multiple regression analysis method is used. The abstract result of this study is as follows. First, there is a significant correlation between spiritual intelligence and a friendship and smartphone use. Adolescents' spiritual intelligence has a meaningful positive relationship with a friendship and a meaningful negative relationship with smartphone use. This means a teenager with high spiritual intelligence is satisfied with his or her friendship and he or she is open to friends. And the teenager doesn't overly indulge in smartphone. Second, adolescents' spiritual intelligence meaningfully affects a friendship and smartphone use. It means that the higher spiritual intelligence is, the better a friendship is. And it signifies that smartphone overindulgence affects a decrease in a tolerance and difficulties of daily living. Third, adolescent's friendship partly but meaningfully affects smartphone use. Among sub factors of friendship, a feeling of satisfaction has negative effects and a sense of closeness has positive effects on smartphone use. It means that a feeling of satisfaction can decrease the difficulties of daily living from smartphone overindulgence while a sense of closeness can aggravate the problems from smartphone overindulgence. As a result, Roman Catholic adolescents' spiritual intelligence is meaningfully correlated with a friendship and smartphone use. It shows that adolescents' friendship partly affects smartphone use. It implies that education for spiritual intelligence and friendship developing programs are effective in prevention of adolescent smartphone overindulgence.
