Tree Girl
Abstract
This thesis is a translation of the book Tree Girl by T.A. Barron.
Tree Girl, Rowanna is a real tree girl as she is a tree spirit. But, she
didn't know who she was, and consistently wondered about where she
came from and what had happened to her mother who was said to leave
Anna under the High Willow. Therefore, Anna started her way to find
her own place where she came from with her friends, little sparrow
Eagle and a sand-colored bear Sash. However, Master Mellwyn had
warned so many times that she must not go into the forest and even
look on the eyes of the trees since there were tree ghouls and deaths.
But, she couldn't help going to the trees and meeting Sash and wholly
new world in the deep forest. At last, she came to know she was a tree
spirit and even a daughter of the High Willow! Also she came to
understand why the High Willow had seemed to wave to her and why the
forest was scary but sometimes felt warm. She will not feel lonely any
longer because she can be with her mother who would wait for her
wherever she goes.
T.A. BARRON is the award-winning author of fantasy novels, most
