A Study of Level-based Instruction of English Classes: A Sample Survey of Student Satisfaction
Abstract
This study aims to investigate students' satisfaction regarding level-based instruction of English classes in middle school. Previous studies of English classes show examples of successful results of level-based instruction of English classes in Korea. This study also shows that there is a significant effect on English proficiency levels when the suggested practices are implemented. The study shows that level-specific classes help students conduct a better English language learning process, allowing for an improvement in differentiated English classes.
The subject tin this study is the first grade, which is made up of 144 middle school students. Chapter 1 discusses the need and purpose of the present study.
Chapter 2 reviews the theoretical basis for level-based instruction of English classes, the meaning of the level-specific curriculum, and teaching and learning methods. Chapter 3 examines the need for research, description of the research Subject, and research tools and procedures based on theoretical background.
Chapter 4 discusses in detail the results of the student survey based on the derived statistical data analysis, as well as the general satisfactory contents of the analysis and differentiated English classes, and basic achievement of English students. Finally, Chapter 5 gives a summary of the analysis of the increased efficiency of level-specific classes.
In conclusion, the results of this study suggest that in order to enhance the effectiveness of level-based English classes, an innovated practice based on level-specific classes be implemented for the increased efficiency and satisfaction of teachers and students.
