제주 지역문화 체험 프로그램 운영과 연계한 미술표현활동

Abstract

체험학습은 직접적인 경험을 통해 자연과 사물을 접한다는 점에서 뛰어난 교육 적 효과를 가지고 있다. 천혜의 보물을 간직하고 있는 제주의 자연과 각종 유적, 박물관 등의 자연․문화유산을 직접 체험하고 탐구하는 활동은 학생들에게 고장 에 대한 흥미와 관심을 높일 뿐만 아니라 자신이 이미 습득한 지식들에 대해 보 다 넓은 시야를 갖게 할 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 제주도 성산읍 지역의 소규모 농어촌 학교 5,6학년 학생들을 대상으로 제주 지역의 다양한 문화유산을 직접 체험하면서 보고 느낀 것을 미술 과 교육과정에 어떻게 적용할 것인가에 대한 방법을 모색하고 이를 통해 현재 자 신이 살고 있는 지역의 자연과 문화를 아름답게 볼 수 있는 미적감수성과 그것을 표현할 수 있는 능력 그리고 자신의 고장을 사랑하고 아끼는 마음을 가지게 하는 데 목적이 있다.본 연구를 위하여 2007 개정 미술과 교육과정을 토대로 수업을 구상하였으며 연구방법으로는 첫째, 문헌연구를 통해 제주지역 문화유산 및 제주의 관광자원, 5,6학년 미술과 교육과정을 분석하였으며 둘째, 체험학습과 미술과 교육과정을 접목시킨 다양한 미술표현활동을 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 기대하는 교육적 효과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동들이 체험학습을 통해 지역에 대한 흥미와 관심을 가지고 둘째, 지역의 문화를 아름답게 볼 수 있는 미적감수성과 표현능력을 키우며 셋째, 자신의 고장을 사랑하는 마음이 길러지도록 하였다. 제주 지역의 다양한 문화유산들을 체험하고 난 후 보고 느낀 내용을 표현 할 수 있는 다양한 미술표현활동들이 계속 연구되어야 할 것이며 교실에서만 배우는 교육이 아닌 직접 지역의 문화를 체험하고 표현 할 수 있는 기회가 더 많이 제공 되어야만 효과를 극대화 할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Experiential leaning has an excellent educational effect on students. Activities that allow students to experience and explore Jeju's natural and cultural heritage can build on their previous knowledge and increase their interest in Jeju. The purpose of this study is to teach about Jeju's natural and cultural heritage through experiential learning activities. Through these activities, students can both increase Jeju pride and learn how to express this pride using art. The focus of the study is 5th and 6th graders in the small farming and fishing village of Seongsan-eup in Jeju. For the study, the lessons were based on the 2007 revised artcurriculum. Research of Jeju natural and cultural heritage was compiled from Jeju tourism resources and combined with the 5th and 6th grade art curricula. Each lesson was conducted using the art expression activities from the curriculum and the experiential learning activities. The results of the study are as follows: First, the children developed an interest in the region through experiential learning. Second, the children learned to recognize Jeju's beauty and learned how to express it through art. Third, the children developed pride for Jeju. It is expected that there will be further research on various artistic expression activities that let children express their feelings after experiencing the cultural heritage of Jeju. The effect is maximized when there are more opportunities to experience the culture of the area outside the classroom.
