『신과 함께 : 이승편』에 나타난 서사무가 활용 양상 연구

Abstract

이 연구는 서사무가를 활용하여 창작 된 만화 『신과 함께 : 이승편』을 분석함으로써 서사무가에 드러난 민중의 가치관이 『신과 함께 : 이승편』에 어떤 양상으로 나타나는지 파악하고, 작품을 통해 작가가 전달하고자 하는 바를 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서는 작품에 활용된 서사무가와 『신과 함께 : 이승편』을 소설분석방법론으로 비교・분석하여 서사무가의 구체적인 활용 양상을 파악하였다. 그 결과, 우선 『신과 함께 : 이승편』은 '집'을 중심으로 등장인물과 요소들이 갈등을 이루며, 그에 따라 이야기가 전개되고 있음을 파악하였다. 그 대립 관계를 미시적 대립과 거시적 대립으로 보고, 좁게는 철거민과 용역업체의 대립에서 넓게는 이승과 저승의 대립에 이르는 양상을 보임을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 작가의 현실 인식에 초점을 두고 작품을 분석한 결과, 오늘날 주거공간의 변화를 재개발 문제와 엮고, 철거민과 가택신의 위기와 죽음을 보여줌으로써 공간의 중요성을 전달함과 동시에 부조리한 사회, 대립적 삶의 모습 그리고 인간사회의 해체를 드러내고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 작품 속 서사무가의 활용 및 변용 양상을 살펴본 결과, 서사 측면에서는 작품에 활용된 부분이 많지 않았으며, 주로 신들을 등장시켜 그들의 역할을 중심으로 신의 성격을 나타내고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 더불어 가택신앙을 중심으로 그들이 좌정한 공간을 제시함으로써 주거공간의 변화와 그 변화에서 파생되는 의례 대상의 부재 혹은 신앙심의 약화와 같은 문제들을 드러냈다. 또한 실제성을 갖는 사회문제들을 사건화하면서 『신과 함께 : 이승편』이 역사성을 공유하고 있는 것으로 파악하였다. 넷째, 그레마스의 이항대립구조에 작중인물들의 욕망과 갈등을 대입해본 결과, 『신과 함께 : 이승편』이 오늘날 우리 주변의 소외된 이웃들의 참담한 현실을 보여주며, 그것을 통해 현실을 벗어난 이상 세계의 모습을 독자들이 그려낼 수 있도록 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로, 『신과 함께 : 이승편』이 사회문제의 활용과 캐릭터의 입체화를 통해 부조리한 현실의 모습을 비롯한 삶과 죽음에 대한 문제까지 보여주면서 서사무가가 가지고 있는 민중의 가치관을 드러내고 있음을 확인하였다.

This study was intended to investigate how values of the people in Narrative Myths appeared in 『With God : This World』 in which aspect by analyzing a cartoon 『With God : This World』 which was created by using Narrative Myths, and to illuminate the purpose that the author intended to deliver through this work. This study compared and analyzed the Narrative Myths and 『With God : This World』 through novel analytic methodology to understand concrete application aspect of Narrative Myths. As a result, it was identified that characters and elements are making conflict around 'house' in 『With God : This World』, and the story revolved around and took place accordingly. The antagonistic relationship was considered as microscopic confrontation and macroscopic confrontation, and showed confrontation aspect between displaced(removed) people and service company and even confrontation between this world and the next. Secondly, as a result of analyzing the work with a focus on the awareness of reality of the artist, the writing delivered importance of space and revealed irrational society, aspects of vicarious life, and dissolution of human society by connecting changes of residential space with redevelopment issue and showing crisis and death of evicted people and the house god. Thirdly, as a result of investigating the application and transformation aspect of Narrative Myths in writing, not many parts were used in the writing in narrative aspect and expressed characters of god around their roles by mainly introducing them. In addition, issues as absence or deterioration of religious faith of the ceremony subject which derived from changes of residential space were revealed by suggesting their seated space around shamanistic house spirits. Also, it was identified that 『With God : This World』 is sharing historicity by making real social problems into events. Fourthly, as a result of substituting desire and conflict of characters on binary opposition structure of Greimass, it was identified that 『With God : This World』 is showing horrific reality of underprivileged people around us today, and is showing images of the ideal world contrary to the reality. Lastly, it was verified that 『With God : This World』is revealing values of the people of Narrative Myths by showing images of irrational reality and problems of life and death through application of social issues and stereogram of characters.
