제주옹기를 통한 미술교육 지역화 방안 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 세계화 교육과 더불어 지역화 교육이 함께 강조되고 있는 요즘 추세 에 따라 세계적으로 인정받고 있는 제주의 자연환경과 독특성 있는 제주의 옹기 에 대해 깊이 있게 들어가 옹기의 개념과 종류, 쓰임새에 대하여 알아보고 전통문 화를 미술과 교육과정에 지역화 내용으로 재구성하고 이에 따른 교수 학습 과정 안을 제시하는데 중점을 두었다. 제주도는 화산섬이라는 독특한 자연환경과 섬이라는 지리적 특성으로 인해 다 른 지방과는 다른 문화들이 많이 있다. 이러한 제주의 전통문화, 제주옹기를 탐구 하는 활동은 학생들에게 고장에 대한 흥미와 관심을 높일 뿐만 아니라 자신이 이 미 습득한 지식들에 대해 보다 넓은 시야를 갖게 할 것이다. 미래를 주도해 나갈 학생들에게 필요한 것은 무엇보다도 독창적이고 고유한 문화유산의 전수일 것이 다. 자신이 살고 있는 지역의 자연과 문화를 아름답게 볼 수 있는 미적감수성과그것을 표현할 수 있는 능력 그리고 자신의 고장을 사랑하고 아끼는 마음을 가지 게 하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구를 통해 기대하는 교육적 효과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동들이 제주옹기를 통해 지역에 대한 흥미와 관심을 가지게 되고 더 나 아가 전통문화 고유의 아름다움에 대해 생각해 볼 수 있게 한다. 둘째, 제주의 자연과 고유한 문화에 대해 아름다움과 가치를 느낄 수 있으며 이 론을 배우고 직접 옹기를 제작해 봄으로써 작품에 대한 표현 의욕을 높이고 즐겁 게 참여할 수 있는 수업을 이끈다. 셋째, 한 주제에 대하여 다양하고 깊이 있는 미술 표현활동을 하면서 그 대상 에 대한 이해와 더불어 미술 전 영역에 대한 아동들의 표현 능력을 이끌고 미적 감수성을 키울 수 있다. 제주 조상들의 얼이 고스란히 담겨 있는 제주옹기는 우리의 슬기로운 지혜이며 자랑스러운 문화이다. 제주옹기를 통한 지역화 미술교육은 학생들로 하여금 다양 한 미술표현을 하며 제주의 전통문화를 아름답게 볼 수 있는 미적 감수성과 그에 대한 전반적인 표현능력의 발전을 유도하며 우리 고장의 자연과 문화를 소중히 여기는 마음을 갖는데 도움이 될 것이다.

The trend nowadays emphasizes global education and localized education. Therefore, this study will look into the natural environment and unique pottery of Jeju, both of which are becoming recognized. This study investigates the concept, sorts, and uses of pottery, and focuses on presenting a education plan by recreating the traditional culture with localized contents of art and education plans. Because Jejo Island is a volcanic island and has unique natural environments, its culture differentiates from other regions. Activities exploring the traditional culture and pottery of Jeju will not onlyincrease the interest of students on this region, but also give the students a wider view on the knowledge they have acquired. Students need to learn creative and unique cultural heritage in order to lead the future. The purpose of this study is to give students an artistic sensibility that enables them to see the nature and culture of regions in a beautiful way, the ability to express this sensibility, and a heart that loves the region they live in. The expected educational results of this study are as follows: First, children acquire interest toward the region through Jeju Onggi, and furthermore, get to think about the beauty of traditional culture. Second, the beauty and value of Jeju's nature and traditional culture will be acknowledged, and a lesson will be led in order to encourage the desire to express art and gladly participate in the class by actually making Jeju Onggi. Third, by doing various art expression activities on one theme, it will be possible to develop the understanding of a certain subject, draw out the expression abilities of children in all artistic areas, and increase their artistic sensibility. Jeju Onggi, which preserves the spirit of ancestors who lived in Jeju, are our wisdom and proud culture. Localized art education using Jeju Onggi helps students express art in various ways, gives them artistic sensibility that enables them to see traditional culture in a beautiful way, and also draws out their general ability to express things. This will help students acquire the heart to cherish our own nature and culture.
