Abstract

In this age basically pursuing eco-friendly life, people are coping with social issues properly by accepting various space, furniture, or product needs and utilizing them. About furniture, eco-friendly furniture began to emerge by using materials not harmful to humans and nature and also saving energy. Also, flexible furniture developed to realize space efficiency has appeared according to the increase of urban population, reduced space for the increase of one-person households, and user needs that have become more complex and diverse than before. Like this, furniture equipped with various and flexible units thanks to the development of system furniture reflecting social needs has become recognized as part of eco-friendly furniture. However, flexible furniture's inflating structure or folding structure is not any related with the reusability of system furniture, so it is needed to consider new issues regarding the reusability of materials used in that furniture. In addition, comparing the objects of eco-friendly behavior, you can find in eco-friendly furniture, the producer's behavior is the main factor and induces consumers' humane eco-friendliness through the use of eco-friendly furniture. Meanwhile, in system furniture or flexible furniture, producers' general behavior is emphasized, and at the same time, consumers' eco-friendly behavior also appears to be important through their furniture's disassembling, transforming, or reassembling based on their secondary preference change of selecting or using the furniture. Eco-friendly flexible furniture takes producers and consumers' eco-friendly behavior as crucial value and is intended to minimize environmental pollution harmful to both humans and nature through the entire process of it. The furniture is modulized with various units as eco-friendly, formatively flexible and efficiently flexible furniture made of good materials with high energy efficiency. It includes structurally eco-friendly, spatially flexible and purposefully flexible furniture, and it is characterized by high mobility, easy combination, and harmony with objects around it. Eco-friendly flexible furniture may appear as a crucial element of eco-friendly furniture design playing roles in maximizing producers' eco-friendly intention for production and consumers' eco-friendly consumption.
