제주지역 음악영재교육의 현황과 개선방안 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 현재 우리나라에서 운영되고 있는 음악영재교육기관 중 광역시 교육청 지정 각 지역 예술영재교육원의 현황을 살펴보고, 제주 예술영재교육원과의 비교를 통한 제주 음악영재교육의 개선 방향을 모색하고, 제시하는데 그 목적을 둔다. 음악영재교육의 개선방안을 연구하기 위해 첫째, 영재와 음악영재에 대한 문헌들을 연구하였다. 영재와 음악영재에 대한 정의를 알아보았고, 음악영재교육의 필요성에 대해 연구하였다. 둘째, 광역시 교육청 지정 인천, 부산, 대구, 광주, 대전에서 운영되고 있는 예술영재교육원의 음악영재 교육목적, 지원자격, 선발전공 및 선발인원, 선발과정, 실기시험, 시험과목별 반영비율, 연간수업계획에 대하여 조사하였다. 셋째, 제주, 서귀포 예술영재교육원의 음악영재교육의 현황에 대하여 조사하였다. 넷째, 타 지역과 제주 지역의 예술영재교육원의 현황을 비교하였다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구를 통하여 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 예술영재의 경우 조기발굴과 조기전문교육이 필요한 만큼 초등학교 저학년으로 확대해야 하고 중학생이 되어도 음악영재교육이 단절되지 않도록 중학생에게 음악영재교육의 기회를 줘야한다. 둘째, 명확한 전공제시와 실기시험의 과제곡 지정으로 보다 공정하고 객관적으로 평가를 할 수 있어야 한다. 셋째, 선발과정과 시험과목별 반영비율을 재조정하여 실기가 우선되는 음악영재를 선발해야 한다. 넷째, 연간수업의 실기 비중을 높이고 이론수업도 현실적으로 음악영재에게 필요한 수업으로 이뤄져야 한다. 이 내용을 바탕으로 효과적이고 높은 수준의 음악영재교육과 잠재력 있는 조기 발굴된 음악영재들이 창의적 예술 인재가 되도록 제주의 음악영재교육에 대한 전문적인 연구와 노력이 끊임없이 이루어져 제주 음악영재교육이 발전되기를 기대해본다.

This study examined the current status of arts education for gifted students in each area designated by the Metropolitan cities among the institutions teaching music education for the gifted in Korea, and aims to search and propose methods for improving music education for gifted students in Jeju through comparison with Jeju's Institute for Gifted in Arts. In order to research improvement methods for music education for the gifted, this study looked over studies on gifted students and gifted students in music. The definitions of gifted and gifted in music were studied and the need for music education for the musically gifted were researched as well. Secondly, the educational goals, qualifications, selection in major, number of students, entrance process, practical tests, weighted rate of each test subject, and yearly curriculum of Institutes for Gifted in Arts in Incheon, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, and Daejeon, all designated by the Metropolitan cities were studied. Thirdly, this study researched the current status of music education for the gifted in music at the Institutes for Gifted in Arts in both Jeju and Seogwipo. And lastly, the studies were compared with that of other institutes in other areas. Based on the above, the conclusions of this study are as the following. First of all, in the case of gifted students in arts, since these students require early discovery and early professional education, the education should be expanded down to young elementary school students and also provide opportunities to middle school students to maintain the level of music education after graduating elementary school as well. Secondly, a fair and objective way of evaluation must be carried out through clearly suggesting majors and designating songs for practical tests. Thirdly, musically gifted students must be selected were practice takes precedence by re-adjusting the entrance process and weighted rate of each test subjects. Fourthly, the ratio of practice out of the yearly curriculum must be increased and theory studies should be carried out with only realistically necessary contents for the musically gifted students. Based on these conclusions, this study hopes that music education for the gifted in Jeju develop through continuous professional studies and efforts in order for early discovered students gifted in music to become creative artists and for music education for the gifted to become more efficient and advanced.
