제주해녀 노동요를 활용한 동화 스토리텔링

Abstract

문화콘텐츠에 원천 소재를 제공하는 문화원형은 그 자체가 인간의 삶에 대한 모든 것을 담고 있으며, 그 문화원형이 유형이든 무형이든 간에 인간 삶의 이야기와 정서‧지식‧교양 등 다양한 문화적 요소들을 담고 있다. 문화콘텐츠의 창조적 상상력은 인문학적 지식 토대 위에서 가능한 상상력이며, 그 대표적인 방법이 '스토리텔링'이다. 제주해녀 문화는 2016년에 유네스코 인류무형문화유산으로 등재되었다. 이는 해녀 문화가 지역적 한계를 넘어 세계적으로 인정받을 수 있는 문화적인 가치를 가지고 있기 때문이다. 제주의 민속‧산업‧신앙‧풍토‧기후를 반영하여 다양하게 구연되는 해녀 노동요는 해녀의 사회문화적 가치와 세계 인식을 독특하게 반영하고 있다. 제주해녀들의 정서와 가치관을 들여다 볼 수 있는 해녀 노동요에는 제주 해녀들의 역사와 정서가 고스란히 들어있다. 현재는 시대의 흐름과 환경이 바뀌고 해녀의 수가 급속히 감소해감에 따라 노동요는 작업현장에서 분리되어 사설과 가락만이 전승되고 있으며, 따라서 해녀 노동요를 물질하는 현장에서 듣기는 어렵게 되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 제주해녀들이 불렀던 노동요의 가치를 살펴보고, 적극적으로 바다를 개척하며 불렀던 노동요를 통해 제주 해녀들의 역사를 새롭게 조명하고 어린이들을 대상으로 한 동화로 스토리텔링 하는데 의의를 둔다. Ⅱ장에서는 제주해녀의 노동요의 특성을 개괄하고 해녀노동요의 교육적 가치와 Ⅲ장에서는 제주해녀 노동요의 사례와 여성 의식에 대하여 살펴보았다. Ⅳ장에서는 제주해녀 노동요를 활용한 스토리텔링의 창작으로 동화의 창작배경, 동화의 구성과 스토리를 구상하였다. Ⅴ장에서는 지금까지의 논의를 정리하고 그에 따른 가치와 필요성에 대해 살펴 본 내용을 서술하였다. 동화 '진주의 바당'은 어린이들에게 제주해녀들의 역사와 문화를 들여다보는 계기가 되어줄 것이며 교육, 문화산업으로의 영역을 확장시킬 수 있다. 이후에 진행 될 연구에서는 해녀문화 교재활용 등을 통해 어린이들이나 청소년들의 관심을 유도하고 해녀들의 정체성을 이끌어갈 인재양성에도 힘써야 할 것이며, 교육대상의 발달 단계에 따라 연령과 수준에 맞는 프로그램과 지역적 특색을 살리는 안목으로 새로운 콘텐츠의 개발이 시도되어야 할 것이다.

The culture of Jeju Haenyos has been registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016. Generally, songs which people chant are inclined to describe, preserve, and reflect the characteristics of their life and culture. The purpose of this study is to re-illuminate and re-evaluate the historical and cultural significance and meaning of labor-songs that have been handed down by Haenyos from generation to generation. In this study, I will also create a children story by analyzing and reflecting the songs and find out the significance of the story. The songs have been chanted for Haenyos to express and represent their hardworking pains and distresses of their life on the one hand, and to reduce and alleviate them on the other hand. So they are involved in Jeju Haenyos' social and cultural viewpoints and their perceptions of life and social environment.

For the purpose, in chapter Ⅱ, I will look into the traits of Jeju Haenyos' labor-songs and their implications of education. In chapter Ⅲ, the social and cultural consciousness of Jeju's women will be examined by way of analyzing the songs. In chapter Ⅳ, first of all, the necessary compositional elements of fairy-tale are confirmed and looked over them. Then I design the concrete plan and contents for a creative children story reflecting the characters of the songs. After all, I write a creative fairy-tale, titled " The sea of pearl." In chapter Ⅴ, the social, cultural, and educational meaning and significance of the made-up story to the growing generation will be discussed and arranged. In conclusion, geneally, the children story will be of great help to the new generation's understanding Jeju Haenyos' way of life and thought including their history and culture. Besides the story is able to be a good example with which Haenyos' songs can be appropriately utilized socially, culturally, and educationally for the new generations growing in Jeju in order to enhance their sense of identity and their consciousness of Jeju's history and culture.
