Abstract

All of the world, obesity is increasing rapidly. Obesity is caused by a variety of causes and causes many problems such as physical, mental, and socioeconomic. Meanwhile, there are regional variations associated with various factors. This study aims to find ways to manage obesity rates by analyzing the factors of the difference in obesity rates in city, urban-rural complex, and rural areas.

The survey was conducted on 218,081 people who were able to measure body mass index among 19 or older adults out of 2016 community health survey data. The report analyzed the current state of obesity rates and to see the difference in obesity rates in each area, a chi-square test was conducted. And a univerate logistic regression and multiple logistic regression were performed to analyze the factors affecting the obesity rates.

People who live in urban-rural complex areas or rural areas are at greater risk of obesity than city areas. The factors that affect the difference in obesity rates in city, urban-rural complex, and rural areas are moderate physical activity and utilization of nutrition marking in city areas, current smoking in urban-rural areas, and current smoking and utilization of nutrition marking in rural areas.

These results show the need for a health services with a priority on physical activity and nutrition to close the gap in obesity rates in the areas.

This study is identified health problems in each region and provide directions for health promotion projects to improve the health level of the local community. And it will be the basis for developing the intervention program that can be provided to local residents in practice.
