스토리텔링을 활용한 제주메밀테마파크 기획 연구

Abstract

제주의 역사와 문화에 잘 반영되어있는 메밀은 제주의 대표 음식문화 중 하나 로 지금까지도 제주의 식생활 속에서 자주 볼 수 있다. 척박한 환경에서도 잘 자 라는 메밀은 오랫동안 제주인의 허기를 채우는 식품이 되어 왔고, 강인한 생장은 거친 환경을 극복하고 살아온 제주인의 생명력과 닮아있다. 제주 메밀 문화는 지 역적 특성을 강하게 담고 있지만, 대중적 콘텐츠가 많지 않고 스토리텔링을 활용 해 제주 메밀 문화의 가치를 알리는 현장도 부족하다. 본 논문은 제주의 문화적 가치를 알리고 제주만의 고유한 문화상품으로 상표 가치를 높이기 위해 스토리텔링을 활용한 제주메밀테마파크 기획 연구를 제시했 다. 이를 위해 제주 메밀 문화 속 다양한 소재들을 유기적으로 연결하여 스토리 텔링하고 방문객이 실제로 체험하고 소통할 수 있는 공간을 기획했다. 제주 메밀 문화의 특성을 알아보기 위해 역사에 나타난 메밀 문화, 제주 의례 속 메밀 음 식, 노동요에 나타난 메밀 이야기를 연구하고 메밀의 효능과 음식 이외의 활용을 살펴보았다. 특히 제주 본풀이 중 메밀 이야기가 가장 많이 언급되는 세경본풀이 를 중심으로 메밀의 기원 및 메밀의 성질과 관련된 이야기들을 찾아보고, 기타 제주 본풀이에 나타난 메밀 음식들을 알아보았다. 다음으로는 제주도에서 활용되 고 있는 메밀 콘텐츠 현황과 국내외 음식테마파크 사례분석을 통해 중심 이야기 와 공간 구성, 장단점을 진단하고 제주 음식테마파크의 현황과 특징을 알아보았 다. 이후 연구된 내용을 본 논문의 기획과정에 반영했다. 아울러 실제 테마파크 가 제주도에 조성될 경우 최적의 요건에 적합한 지역을 제안하고 지역별로 특성 을 알아보았다. 제주메밀테마파크의 주제는 '신과 인간이 함께 살아가는 제주 섬에서 비밀을 품고 자라는 씨앗, 메밀을 찾아 떠나는 신나고 재미있는 이야기 공원'으로 설정 했다. 각 구역은 주제가 잘 전달되도록 메밀의 뿌리, 줄기, 잎, 꽃을 형상화한 구 조로 나누고, 동선은 이야기의 서사구조를 따라 방문객의 감정을 최대한 극대화 할 수 있도록 기획했다. 이야기 속 캐릭터는 제주 신화의 신들을 바탕으로 창작 했고 기본 줄거리는 비밀의 씨앗인 메밀을 찾아가는 모험으로 구성했다. 세부 이 야기는 공간 개요와 공간 기획을 고려하여 각 주제가 자연스럽게 연결되도록 도 출하고, 전체 이야기는 동화로 제작했다. 마지막으로 본 논문의 내용을 요약하고 스토리텔링을 활용한 제주메밀테마파크에 대한 기대효과를 이야기했다. 본 연구자는 이 논문 소정의 결과를 제주음식테마파크 설계와 기획 모델로 제 안했으며 제주 문화의 창의적 콘텐츠 개발에 도움이 되고자 노력했다. 스토리텔 링을 활용한 제주메밀테마파크 기획 연구가 제주 문화의 가치 확산에 기여하길 바라며 본 논문의 기획 정신이 반영되길 희망한다.

A buckwheat is one of the representative traditional foods in Jeju and very often seen on Jeju people's food table. The buckwheat grows well in Jeju barren land and has relieved people's hunger for a long time in Jeju. The strong vitality of buckwheats resembles Jeju people who survived the harsh environment of Jeju. So the buckwheat reflects Jeju's history and culture well and appears very often in Jeju's legendary stories. These buckwheat stories reflect the unique and local characteristics of Jeju well. However, there are not many public contents about the buckwheat nor places to promote the Jeju buckwheat's cultural value by using storytelling. This paper proposes how to design Jeju Memil-Park which will raise and promote the cultural value of Jeju through the legendary stories about the buckwheat as Jeju's unique cultural product. Jeju Memil-Park links various materials in the Jeju buckwheat culture and tells the legendary story about the buckwheat. This will enhance visitors' understanding about the Jeju culture. To investigate the characteristics of Jeju buckwheat culture, I studied how the buckwheat has been used in Jeju people's life; buckwheat culture in history, buckwheat story in Jeju rituals, and buckwheat theme in labor songs. I analyzed the stories that are related to the origin and the characteristics of the buckwheat, especially focusing on Segyeong Bonpuli, where buckwheat stories are mentioned more often than in any other Jeju Bonpulis (Bonpuli is a kind of shamanic mythology). I also studied the buckwheat food shown in other Jeju Bonpulis. Next, I studied the main story, space organization, and pros and cons, through analyzing the current states of the buckwheat contents used in Jeju and the examples of other food theme parks at home and abroad. I checked the current states and the characteristics of Jeju's food theme parks. After that, I reflected the research findings in the planning process of this paper. In addition to this, I suggested appropriate areas for the optimal requisites for the park under the condition that the theme park would be actually built in Jeju, and I examined the characteristics by area. I took 'a funny and exciting story park where you will go on a journey in search of the buckwheat, which is grown, keeping secrets, on Jeju Island, where gods and humans live together' as the theme of Jeju Memil-Park. The zones of the park look like the roots, stems, leaves, and flowers of the buckwheat to deliver the theme of the park. The route in the park is organized, based on the narrative structure of the story in order to maximize the visitors' feelings. The characters are based on the gods from Jeju mythology, and the basic plot is the adventure in search of the buckwheat, the secret seed. The detailed stories were created to naturally connect each subject, based on the space outline and the space planning. The whole story is a fairy tale. Lastly, I summarized the paper and wrote about the expected effects from my planning research of Jeju Memil-Park using storytelling. I suggested the paper results for the model for the design and planning of Jeju Food Theme Park, and I made efforts to help develop Jeju's creative cultural contents. I hope my proposal will contribute to promoting the value of Jeju culture, and I hope the intention of the planning ideas of the paper will be well reflected in building the park
