Abstract

In recent international trade, tariff rates have gradually decreased and non-tariff barriers such as technical regulations have been utilized and in particular, developing countries are constantly adopting new technological measures, making technology standards more stringent and more complicated. Korea's the largest exporter and the importer is China, korean export companies have suffered a great loss due to China's mandatory certification system, the prescribed measures for electronic products, and the barriers to technology trade barriers. In particular, China is implementing stringent technical regulations in industries such as large agricultural and livestock products, chemical industry, electronics, and medical devices. The reason for such regulation is to protect the safety and health of major human beings and to prevent environmental pollution. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of China 's trade technology barriers on Korea' s export performance when Korea is exported to China with high trade dependence. In this study, we examine the TBT-SPS notification to WTO from 2014 to 2018 to see how Korea has affected the export performance to China. In addition, since human and food safety have the negative effect on the export enterprise, the analysis results of empirical analysis through the gravity model using the health expenditure field of China and the discrete carbon emission during the analysis period are examined, and what factors are influenced by related factors. The regulation of technology has been increasing recently. Therefore, the positive correlation between technical regulation and trade (+) has been confirmed through the empirical analysis on the correlation of economic size, other models, population size, and tariff rate. The results of the analysis show that the larger the size of the economy of China, the more active the export performance and the lower the average tariff rate, the higher the trade openness, the greater the trade exports. There is a negative relationship between expenditure on healthcare in China, which indicates that as spending on healthcare increases, China's exports decline. As the carbon dioxide emissions in China are positively correlated with the increase in carbon dioxide emissions, the results of analysis on the number of China's technical regulation reports have a negative effect on export performance.
