Johann Sebastian Bach의 Flute Sonata in e minor, BWV 1034 아티큘레이션 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업 리사이틀 프로그램 중 Johann Sebastian Bach의 Flute Sonata in e minor, BWV 1034의 아티큘레이션을 중심으로 분석 한 연주법 연구이다. 바로크 시대는 봉건주의 체제가 무너지고 절대주의 체제가 일어나며, 왕권 중심 의 국가가 성립되었고, 바로크 시대의 예술 역시 귀족들이 즐기던 문화에 맞춰 화려한 예술이 성행하였다. 바로크 시대의 음악은 종교음악과 성악음악이 주를 이루었고, 특히 화려함을 보이는 오페라가 크게 성행하였다. 기악음악은 성악음 악을 보조해주는 반주역할에서 가사 없이도 감정을 전달 할 수 있도록 노력하였 고, 솔로악기의 역할로 발전하였으며, 기악음악의 하나의 장르로 인정받기 시작 하였다. 바로크 시대 음악의 악보에는 작곡가와 연주자가 일치하는 경우가 많아서 아티 큘레이션과 장식음, 다이나믹 등의 표시가 정확하게 나타나 있지 않았다. 그 당 시의 연주자들은 주로 개인의 역량으로 아티큘레이션과 장식음을 넣어 즉흥 연 주를 하였고, 연주자에 따라 곡의 해석이 달라졌기 때문에 아티큘레이션과 장식 음은 그 당시 연주가들의 능력을 평가할 수 있는 필수 요소로 작용 되었다. 따라 서, J. S. Bach의 Flute Sonata의 경우 연주자 본인의 생각과 해석을 가지고 연 주하기 때문에 바흐의 아티큘레이션 연구가 중요하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 J. S. Bach의 Flute Sonata in e minor, BWV 1034를 바탕으로 연구하였다. 이를 위해 본 논문은 바로크 시대에 사용되었던 장식음의 종류와 아티큘레이션 의 규칙성을 이해하고, 현대시대에 권위 있는 플루티스트 3인 엠마뉘엘 파후드 (Emmanuel Pahud), 제임스 골웨이(James Galway), 장 피에르 랑팔(Jean-Pierre Rampal)의아티큘레이션 사용에 대한 연구를 진행하였다. 이 논문을 통해 요한 세바스찬 바흐의 Flute Sonata in e minor, BWV 1034를 연주하는 연주자들에게 아티큘레이션의 규칙성을 파악하여 연주 할 수 있도록 돕는데 그 목적이 있다.

This study is an analysis on performance style focusing on the articulation of Flute Sonata in e minor, BWV 1034 of Johann Sebastian Bach, one of the graduation recital programs required for the completion of a Master's Degree. Baroque Period witnessed the fall of Feudalism and the rise of Absolutism, the establishment of a sovereign state, and the prevalence of extravagant art matched with the culture enjoyed by the aristocrats at the time. The musics of Baroque Period were mostly religious music or opera music with lavish style gaining more popularity. Instrumental music at the time was used for accompaniment in operas to better deliver the emotions without lyrics and later played the role as solo music and started being accepted as a separate genre of an instrumental music. As it was typical for the musical notes from Baroque Period to have the same name for composer and performer, they do not accurately show the markings for articulation, ornamentations, and dynamics. Performers at the time would normally perform spontaneouly by inserting articulation and ornamentations based on their own capacity and the interpretation on each musical piece differed among different performers making elements such as articulation and ornamentations crucial factors with which their musical capacity could be evaluated. Thus, for Flute Sonata of J. S. Bach, the studies on Bach's articulation is important as each performance is based on the performer's own ideas and interpretation on the piece. This study seeks to understand the types of ornamentations and the patterns of articulation and provide help for the performers to better understand the patterns of articulation in their performance based on the findings of the studies on articulation use of the three world-renowned flutist including Emmanuel Pahud, James Galway, and Jean-Pierre Rampal.
