드라마 에 나타난 교육사회적 욕망의 구조

Abstract

은 최고 시청률이 23.8%에 이를 정도로 인기를 끈 드라마이다. 이렇게 높은 시청률을 기록 했다는 것만으로도 이 드라마를 단순히 재미있는 콘 텐츠 정도로 넘어 갈 수는 없다. 왜냐하면 이 드라마의 소재는 '교육'이었으며, 우리사회에서 '교육'은 여러 특별한 의미를 가지고 있기 때문이다. 드라마 하면 늘 따라 붙는 내용이 '교육열' 또는 '욕망'이라는 단어다. 드라마 은 '욕망'을 통해 교육열을 바라보고 있기 때문이다. 본 연구는 우리사회를 관통하는 욕망의 구조가 무엇이며, 이는 어떻게 한국사 회에서 재현되고 있는가를 밝혀내는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구의 연구문제로 첫째, 르네 지라르의 "욕망의 삼각형 이론"은 무엇인가? 둘째, 에 드러난 교육적 욕망은 어떻게 구조화 되었는가? 셋째, 의 교육적 욕망의 구조와 한국교육의 현실과는 어떤 관련이 있는가? 넷째, 에 서 드러난 교육적 욕망의 구조가 시사하는 바는 무엇인가? 로 제시하였다. 연구 문제에서 제시한 것처럼 욕망의 발생은 르네 지라르의 '욕망의 삼각형' 이 론으로 밝혔다. 르네 지라르의 욕망의 삼각형이론은 드라마 속 인물 각각이 가진 욕망의 발생 구조를 파악 할 수 있으면서도, 또 인물간의 삼각형을 통해 서로에 게 어떤 영향을 주고받고 있는지 파악하기에 유용했다. 삼각형의 각 꼭지점은 욕 망하는 주체와 주체에게 욕망을 암시하는 중개자, 주체와 중개자의 욕망의 대상 이 삼각형 형태로 나타난다. 이를 교육의 영역에 적용하여 교육에 대한 사람들의 욕망이 어디서 발생하는지를 살펴보았다. 욕망의 삼각형에서 주체인 인간의 욕망은 반드시 매개자의 욕망을 모방한다. 즉, 인간의 욕망은 중개자에 의해 간접화된 욕망으로 스스로 발생하지 않는다. 여기서 중개자는 사회적 기호를 획득하려는 인간의 욕망이 구조화된 사회구조이 며, 이는 사회구조가 인간의 개개인의 욕망에 영향을 미치게 된다는 교육사회학 관점으로 접근 할 수 있는 근거가 된다. 인간은 사회의 욕망 즉, 지위, 명예, 학력 등이라는 기호를 획득하기 위한 욕망 이 암시되어 이것을 획득하고자 한다. 사회는 이러한 사회적 기호를 균등하게 분 배하기 위해 '시험'이라는 제도를 마련해 왔다. 자격이 되는 모두에게 평등한 기 회를 줌으로써 사회의 안정을 꾀하고 인재를 선발하려고 했던 것이다. 과거 한국 사회에서는 이러한 시험 과정이 '과거제'였으며 현대사회에서는 '대학 입시'가 되 었다. 과거부터 현대까지 제도와 목적은 달라져왔지만 시험에 합격하기 위한 방 법이 '교육'이라는 점은 변하지 않았다. 사회의 기호를 획득한다는 목적을 가진 교육은 교육자체가 아닌 수단으로 전락해버렸고, 부모의 개인적인 혹은 가족의 공통적인 목표를 실현하기 위한 도구로써 자식의 교육에 대한 욕망이 발생되었 다. 이렇게 생겨난 욕망은 부모의 마음 깊은 곳에서 스스로 자라난 욕망이라기 보단 사회의 욕망을 모방한 욕망으로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구를 위해 르네 지라르의 이론을 분석하고, 선행연구를 통해 사회구조 속 에서 나타나고 있는 교육열을 분석하였으며 드라마 대본집을 통해 드라마 속 인 물들의 욕망을 분석하였다. 주로 대사를 직접 인용하거나, 지문들을 바탕으로 각 등장인물들이 바라는 욕망이 무엇인가를 도출 하였으며, 이를 교육과 연결시켜, 교육을 통해 이루고자 하는 목표를 분석하였다. 등장인물 개개인의 욕망을 분석 후 공통된 점을 유형화하여 한국사회에서 나타나는 교육열의 현상을 도출하였다. 삼각형 구도로 설명되는 등장인물의 유형과 삼각형 구도를 벗어나는 등장인물, 그리고 그 둘 사이를 방황하는 과도기적 유형으로 나누어 한국사회에서 나타나 는 교육열의 유형을 살펴보았다. 특히 삼각형 구도로 나타나는 교육열에서 사람 들이 얻고자 하는 기호가 무엇인지 밝혀내기 위해 선행연구 분석을 참고하여 크 게 두 가지 유형을 가져왔으며, 이는 가족의 명예를 유지하기 위한 교육열과 자 신의 지위를 상승시키려는 지위지향적 교육열로 나누어 설명하였다. 마지막으로 삼각형의 구도를 벗어난 유형을 정리하여 작가가 바라는 이상적인 교육형태가 무엇인가도 짚어 보았다. 본 연구는 교육사회학적 관점을 통해 한국사회의 교육열을 살펴보았다. 본 연 구에서 제시한 한국사회의 교육열은 한국사회의 교육구조를 이해하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이며, 더 나아가 한국사회의 교육열의 문제점을 진단하고 개선책을 도출하는 데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다

The is a drama with up to 23.8 percent terrestrial ratings in 2019. Given the high rating of this drama, we should not belittle it just as interesting content. This is because the material of this drama is "education," and "education" has various special meanings in Korean society. When we talk about the drama we always hear the words "education fever" or "desire." This is because the drama looks at educational fever through "Desire." The purpose of this study is to clarify what structure of desire penetrates into Korean society and how it is being reproduced in Korean society. So, the first research question for this study is what René Girard's "Triangle of Desire" is? Second, how the educational desire that emerged in is structured? Third, what is the relationship between the structure of 's educational desire and the reality of Korean education? Fourth, what is suggested by the structure of educational desire that revealed? As I suggested in the research question, I would reveal the generation of desire with René Girard's "triangle of desire" theory. René Girard's triangle theory of desire helped to understand the structure of the character's desire in the drama and how it affects each other through the triangle between the characters. Each vertex of the triangle shows the subject who desires something, a mediator who suggests desire to the subject, and an object of their desire, respectively. If we bring this into the field of education, we can clarify where people's desire for education arises. If you look at it in place of the triangle of desire, the desire of the subject always mimics the desire of the mediator. In other words, human desire is an indirect desire by an mediator and does not occur naturally. The mediator is a structured social structure of human desire to acquire social preference, which serves as a basis for approaching from the viewpoint of educational sociology that the social structure can affect individual human desire. Human desire is trying to acquire the symbol of social desire, namely, status, honor, educational background, etc., which is implied social desire. The society has established a system called "test" to distribute such social symbol equally. They tried to stabilize society and select people by giving everyone qualified equal opportunities. In the past, such an examination process in Korean society was the "과거제" and it became the "university entrance examination" in modern society. In our society, from the past to the present, has only changed the system but has not changed the people thinking that the only way to pass the exam is "education". Education with the objective of acquiring social symbol has turned into a means rather than an education itself, and children's desire for education has been created as a tool for achieving their own personal or family goals. Therefore, the desire can be seen as a desire that imitates the desire of society, rather than a desire that was raised in the depths of the parents' hearts. For this research, René Girard's theory was analyzed, educational fever was analyzed through previous research, and the desire of the character in the drama was analyzed through the script book. At this time, the lines were mainly quoted directly or based on fingerprints, the desires of each character were derived. Therefore, I would clarify the characters' goals which they want to achieve through the education. After analyzing each character's desires, the phenomenon of enthusiasm for education in Korean society was derived by classifying commonalities. We looked at the types of characters described in the triangle composition, the types of characters that escape the triangle composition, and the types of characters that wanders between the two types. In particular, the enthusiasm for education, which appears in the triangular structure, can be divided into two main types: the enthusiasm for education to maintain the honor of the family and the enthusiasm for position-oriented education to raise one's position. Finally, we summarized the types that were out of the triangle and pointed out what ideal educational forms the drama writer wanted. This study looked at the educational fever of Korean society through the educational and sociological perspective. The enthusiasm for education in Korean society presented in this study is expected to help us understand the educational structure of Korean society, and further contribute to diagnosing problems in Korean.
