원예치료에 대한 일반인과 상담 및 심리치료 관련 종사자의 인식과 경험

Abstract

이 연구의 목적은 심리치료 분야에서 원예치료의 현 위치를 파악하고 원예치료에 대한 인식을 고양시키며 보편화 및 활성화 가능 방안을 제시하기 위한 것이다. 이 연구를 위해 상담 및 심리치료 관련 종사자 126명과 일반인 207명을 포함하여 총 333명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 시행하였다. 조사 설문지는 연구자가 이전의 연구결과들을 기반으로 개발하였으며, 연령, 성별 등 인구사회학적특성과 상담 및 심리치료 관련 종사 여부에 대한 조사를 포함하였다. 또한 심리치료 분야 및 원예치료에 대한 인지도(4문항), 원예치료에 대한 이해도(20문항),심리치료 및 원예치료에 대한 경험(6문항), 원예치료 보편화를 위한 방안(2문항)등으로 기획 및 구성하였다. 수집된 자료를 토대로 빈도분석 및 집단 간 비교분석을 시행하였다.연구결과, 원예치료에 대한 인지도가 상담 및 심리치료 관련 종사자에 비해일반인 집단이 유의미하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 원예치료에 대한 이해도는 상담 및 심리치료 관련 종사자와 일반인 집단 모두 높은 편이었으며, 특히 원예치료의 효과에 대한 이해도는 집단 간 유의한 차이 없이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 원예치료의 경험은 대부분 없는 것으로 나타났다.원예치료가 보급이 잘 되어있지 않은 이유로 홍보부족이 가장 높게 나타났다.특히 두 집단을 나누어서 보면 상담 및 심리치료 관련 종사자는 수행기관의 부족을, 일반인은 인식의 부족을 가장 많이 선택한 것으로 나타났다. 원예치료의적용과 활성화 방안으로서 상담 및 심리치료 관련 종사자는 원예치료 수행기관증가의 필요성을, 일반인은 방송이나 SNS를 통한 홍보 활성화의 필요성을 가장높은 비율로 선택한 것으로 나타났다.이러한 연구결과를 통해 원예치료에 대한 인식을 고취시키며 심리치료의 방법으로써 활용도를 높이기 위해 원예치료에 대한 홍보와 수행기관 증가의 필요성을 제언하였다. 또한, 이 연구결과 및 제언을 통해 원예치료가 많은 사람들에게 효과성과 접근성이 높은 치료로 인식될 수 있도록 실질적인 방안을 마련하기위한 기초자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

This study aimed to identify the current position of horticultural therapyin the field of psychotherapy, raise awareness regarding horticultural therapy,and suggest generalization and activation methods for promoting horticulturaltherapy. A survey was administered to 333 participants, including 126 workersin filed related to counseling and psychotherapy and 207 members of thegeneral public through online questionnaires. The author developed the surveyquestionnaire based on relevant findings from previous studies, which hadshown content and face validity as well as reliability; the questionnaire itemsincluded sociodemographic characteristics such as age and gender, awarenessabout counseling and psychotherapy(4 questions), understanding regardinghorticultural therapy(20 questions), psychotherapy and horticultural treatment(6 questions), and generalization(2 questions). The statistical analysis wasconducted using frequency analysis and inter-group comparative analysis.The results demonstrated that the general population had significantlylower awareness regarding horticultural therapy compared to workers in thecounseling and psychotherapy fields. The perceived effects of horticulturaltherapy was generally strong, and there were no significant differencesbetween the workers and the general public in this regard. Most of theparticipants had no direct experience with horticultural therapy.Regarding reasons for the lack of horticultural therapy application andactivation, the highest number of responses identified lack of publicity as themain reason. In particular, when asked about the reasons for the lack ofhorticultural therapy application and activation, psychotherapists blamed thelack of therapy institutions, while the general public blamed a lack ofawareness. Regarding ways to apply and revitalize horticultural therapy,psychotherapists responded that the number of therapy institutions should beincreased, while the general public believed that this issue should bepublicized widely through broadcasting or Social Networking Service.Based on these results, this study suggested the necessities of promotingthe effectiveness of horticultural therapy and increasing the number oftherapy institutions for raising awareness and activation of horticulturaltherapy. In addition, the researcher expect that the findings and suggestionswill provide basic data to provide practical ways for horticultural therapy tobe recognized as effective and accessible for the general public.
