고교학점제 도입에 따른 국어과 학생 선택형 교육과정 편성·운영의 실태 분석 연구

Abstract

고교학점제 도입에 따른 국어과 학생 선택형 교육과정 편성·운영의 실태 분석 연구 -제주 지역 일반고등학교를 중심으로- 강 희 진 제주대학교 대학원 국어교육전공 지도교수 송현정 이 연구는 제주 지역의 국어과 학생 선택형 교육과정 편성·운영에서 나타나 는 쟁점을 구체적으로 파악하여 그와 관련한 개선 방향을 제안하는 것을 목적으 로 한다. 이를 위해 제주특별자치도 지역의 일반고등학교 16교의 고교학점제에 따른 국어과의 학생 선택형 교육과정 편성·운영 현황 및 국어 교사의 인식을 조사하여 운영 실태를 구체적으로 분석하고 그에 따른 쟁점 및 개선 방향을 제 시하였다. 고교학점제 도입에 따른 국어과 학생 선택형 교육과정의 편성·운영 현황을 파악하기 위해 2015 개정 교육과정이 처음 적용된 2018년 입학생과 2022년 입학 생 대상의 국어과 교육과정의 편성 및 운영 현황을 분석하고 어떠한 변화가 나 타나고 있는지를 살펴보았다. 추가적으로 학교의 소재에 따라 읍면지역과 동지역 으로 구분하고, 규모에 따라 전체 학급 수를 30학급 이상, 30학급 미만으로 구분 하여 분석하였다. 그리고 국어 교사의 인식을 알아보기 위하여 심층 면담을 실시 하였다. 또한 실태를 분석한 결과를 바탕으로 교육과정 편성·운영과 관련한 쟁점들을 도출하였다. 편성과 관련한 쟁점으로 학생의 수요와 특성을 고려한 국어과 교육 과정의 방향 설정, 학교 간 국어과 학생 선택형 교육과정 편성·운영의 격차를 도출하였으며, 운영과 관련한 쟁점으로 국어 교사의 다과목 지도와 수업·평가의 질 관리를 도출하였다. 그리고 도출한 쟁점을 바탕으로 다음과 같이 개선 방향을 제안하였다. 첫째, 수요자 중심의 과목 선택 기준 정교화를 위한 국어 교과목 이수 경로 설 정이 필요하다. 둘째, 학교 간 국어과 학생 선택형 교육과정 편성·운영의 격차 해소를 위한 국어 교사 네트워크 운영이 필요하다. 셋째, 기초 교과목의 안정적 운영을 위한 국어 교과목의 적정 시수를 확보해야 한다. 넷째, 다과목 지도 지원 을 위한 다과목 담당 교사의 수업 시수 조정 또는 보상 체계 마련이 필요하다. 다섯째, 국어 교과목 수업·평가의 질 관리를 위한 국어 교사 전문성 강화가 필 요하다. 이 연구를 통해 국어 교과와 제주 지역의 맥락을 구체적으로 분석하여 쟁점 및 개선 방향 도출을 함으로써 고교학점제 도입에 따른 국어과 학생 선택형 교육 과정 편성·운영의 안착에 기여하기를 기대한다. 핵심어: 고교학점제, 학생 선택형 교육과정, 국어과 학생 선택형 교육과정, 국어과 교육과정, 국어과 고교학점제, 제주 고교학점제|This study aims to concretely identify the issues arising in the organization and implementation of student-selective curriculum in the Korean language in the context of the introduction of the high school credit system in the Jeju region. To achieve this, a survey was conducted on the status and perceptions of student-selective curriculum organization and implementation in the Korean language in 16 general high schools in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province under the high school credit system. The survey analyzed the organization and Implementation status of the student-selective curriculum in the Korean language for the students who entered in 2018 and those who entered in 2022, examining any changes that have occurred. Additionally, the analysis categorized schools based on their location and size. In-depth interviews were conducted to understand the perceptions of Korean language teachers. The results of the analysis were used to derive key issues related to curriculum organization and implementation. Planning-related issues included setting the direction of the Korean language curriculum considering student demand and characteristics, and identifying disparities in student-selective curriculum organization and implementation among schools. Operation-related issues included the quality management of multi-subject instruction and class assessment by Korean language teachers. Based on the identified issues, the study proposed the following improvement directions: 1. Precision in setting subject selection criteria centered on consumer preferences is necessary to refine the Korean language curriculum completion path. 2. Operation of a network for Korean language teachers is required to address disparities in student-selective curriculum organization and implementation among schools. 3. Adequate class hours for stable operation of basic curriculum subjects in the Korean language department need to be secured. 4. Adjustment of class hours or establishment of a compensation system for teachers responsible for multi-subject instruction is necessary to support effective teaching. 5. Enhancement of the professional competence of Korean language teachers is required for quality management of Korean language curriculum instruction and assessment. Through this study, we hope to contribute to the establishment and operation of the Korean language student-selective curriculum following the introduction of the high school credit system by analyzing the Korean language subject and the context of the Jeju region in detail and deriving issues and improvement directions.
