- A Study on the Interface for Elctrical Supply based on Piezoelectric Generation
- Abstract
- Currently, wireless sensor network (WSN) technology is being activelyresearched in various fields such as bio, architecture, and military technology. The WSN requires an independent power source for driving, which has led toresearch on battery charging technology using energy harvesting. Manystudies have been conducted to increase the output efficiency by changing thematerial and structure of the energy harvesting device. However, there is alimit to charging the currently commercialized lithium secondary battery, because the generated signals are discontinuous or not constant. Therefore, inorder to charge the battery, it is necessary not only to increase the efficiencyof the device but also to change the signal into an appropriate form.In this study, an interface system was proposed to obtain high-densityenergy pulses from low-density energy in the process of supplying powerusing piezoelectric elements. It was confirmed that the signal can beconverted into a continuous signal with a small mechanical movement. Inaddition, the simulation showed that the charging time can be shortened witht he increased frequency.
