친환경 주제 통합 농업교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 환경 태도에 미치는 영향

Abstract

이 연구는 친환경 주제 통합 농업교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 환경 태도 형성에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 한 것으로 제주특별자치도 서귀포시 읍면지역에 소재하고 있는 S 초등학교 3-6학년 환경 동아리 학생 21명을 대상으로 하였다. 이를 위해 친환경 요소를 기반으로 관련 교과를 주제 중심으로 통합 및 재구성하여 초등학교 교육 현장에 적용할 수 있는 친환경 주제 통합 농업교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 2020년 6월 23일부터 12월 18일까지 총 6개월에 걸쳐 실험집단 학생들에게 작물 재배 계획 세우기와 텃밭 조성하기를 시작으로 친환경 주제 통합 농업교육 프로그램을 적용하였다. 결과 검증을 위해 환경 태도 검사를 사전․사후 실시하였고, 수집된 자료는 i-Statistics 프로그램을 이용하여 대응표본 t 검정을 실시하였으며 유의 수준은 .05로 설정하였다. 또한 실험집단 학생들의 생각과 태도의 변화를 분석하기 위하여 작물 재배를 하면서 작성한 활동지, 재배관찰일지, 소감문과 행동 관찰 및 면담 결과 등의 질적 자료도 분석하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실험집단의 환경 태도 검사 결과 유의 수준 .05에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 하위 영역별로는 생태관리 영역은 .05, 환경일반 영역에서는 .05, 환경오염 영역에서는 .05, 상호작용 영역에서는 .05 수준에서 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 따라서 친환경 주제 통합 농업교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 환경 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 주었음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 학생들의 활동지, 재배관찰일지, 소감문과 행동 관찰 및 면담 결과를 분석한 결과, 친환경 주제 통합 농업교육 프로그램을 통해 환경에 대한 태도가 긍정적으로 변화했음을 알 수 있었다. 이상과 같은 연구결과로 살펴볼 때 초등학교 친환경 주제 통합 농업교육 프로그램은 학습자들의 환경 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 판단되어 앞으로 지속 가능한 미래 사회를 위한 바람직한 환경 태도 함양을 위해 다양한 친환경 주제 통합 농업교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 연구가 필요하다고 본다. 이 연구는 관련 교과 시간, 창의적 체험활동에 적용할 수 있는 범교과적인 내용을 바탕으로 구성한 친환경 주제 통합 농업교육 자료로 학교 현장에서 활용 가능할 것이다. 이 연구를 통해 개발된 프로그램은 초등학교 중학년에서 고학년에 적합한 것으로 각 학년의 특성에 맞게 수준을 조절하여 세분화된 프로그램 운영이 이루어지기를 제안해 본다. 또한 친환경 주제 통합 농업교육이 학교 현장 뿐만 아니라 가정, 마을, 지역사회와 연계하여 실천적이며 체계적인 교육활동으로 이루어질 수 있도록 현실적인 지원 방안 및 실천 방향도 마련되어야 할 것이다.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of an ecofriendly themeintergration program in agricultural education on the formation of environmentalattitudes of elementary school students. The subjects were 21 students from 3rdto 6th grade environmental club at S elementary school located inSeogwipo-city, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.To this end, we developed an ecofriendly theme intergration program inagricultural education that can be applied to elementary school field byintergrating and reorganizing related subjects based on ecofriendly elements.From June 23 to December 18, 2020, a total of six months of experimentalgroup students were applied with an integration agricultural education program onecofriendly theme, starting with making a crop cultivation plan and creating avegetable gardens. To verify results, environmental attitudes test was conductedbefore and after the test and the collected data were analyzed with i-Statisticsprogram before matching sample t test and significance level was set at .05. Inaddition, to analyze the changes in thought and attitudes in students ofexperimental group, qualitative data including activity sheets prepared whilegrowing plants, observation log, review, behavior observation, and interview resultwere also analyzed.The results of this study are as follows.First, as a result of testing the environmental attitudes in experimental group,there was a significant difference at the significant level of .05. In sub-categories,there was a significant difference at the significant level of .05 for ecologicalmanagement area, .05 for general environmental area, .05 for environmentalpollution area, and .05 for interaction area. Therefore, it was found that there wasa positive impact of an ecofriendly theme intergration program in agriculturaleducation on elementary school students' environmental attitudes.Second, as a result of analyzing students' activity sheets, observation log,review, behavior observation, and interview results, it was found that theecofriendly theme intergration program in agricultural education changed students'attitudes toward environmental in a positive way.Taken the above results together, it is judged that the ecofriendly themeintergration program in agricultural education has a positive impact on elementaryschool leaners' attitudes toward environmental. To foster desirable environmentalattitudes for the sustainable future society, a variety of researches are needed todeveloped ecofriendly theme intergration program in agricultural education.This study is the ecofriendly theme intergration program in agriculturaleducation data that are constructed based on cross-curricula contents that can beapplied to related subject classes and creative experiential activities and will beapplied at school settings. The program developed in this study is appropriate formiddle to upper graders in elementary schools and so it is proposed thatsubspecialized programs for distinguishing between levels suitable to eachgrader's characteristics be operated. Furthermore, realistic support plans anddirection for practicing them should be prepared so that the ecofriendly themeintergration agricultural education can be practical and systematic in connectionwith family, village, and community as well as school setting.
