Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 제주대학교 교육대학원 상담심리전공 석사학위논문의 연구동향을 분석하고 학문적 정체성을 탐구하는 것이다. 이를 위해 다음과 같이 연구문제를 설정했다.

연구문제 1. 제주대학교 교육대학원 석사학위 논문의 연구주제 동향은 어떠한가? 연구문제 2. 제주대학교 교육대학원 석사학위 논문의 연구대상 동향은 어떠한가? 연구문제 3. 제주대학교 교육대학원 석사학위 논문의 연구방법 동향은 어떠한가? 연구문제 4. 제주대학교 교육대학원 석사학위 논문의 통계방법 동향은 어떠한가?

본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 상담심리전공 석사학위 논문이 첫 게재된 1995년 9월부터 2020년 8월까지 총 390편의 논문을 연구주제, 연구대상, 연구방법, 통계방법 분석 준거에 따라 시계열 빈도분석과 연구결과 간 교차분석을 실시했다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 바탕으로 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.

첫째, 제주대 상담심리전공 석사학위 논문에서 가장 많이 연구된 주제는 성격 및 적응 연구 177편(45%)이며 성과연구가 108편(28%), 진로 및 적성연구 45편(12%) 순으로 나타났다. 이외 연구는 모두 10% 미만으로 나타나 상담 연구 영역 이 성격 및 적응 연구 등 특정 주제에 집중되고 있음을 확인할 수 있다.

둘째, 연구대상은 연구대상이 없는 논문 4편을 제외한 386편 중 100편(25%)이 초등학생을 대상으로 했다. 이어 중등 60편(15%), 고등 55편(14%), 성인 46편 (11%), 대학생 37편(9%) 순이다. 연구대상이 둘 이상인 경우를 제외하고 단일 연구대상에서 상담자를 대상으로 한 연구가 가장 적게 나타났다.

셋째, 연구방법은 전체 390편 중 370편(95%)이 양적연구로 확연히 집중된 반면 질적연구는 18편(4%), 혼합연구는 2편(1%)에 그쳤다. 양적연구는 매해 90%를 넘는 비율을 유지하고 있으며 2015년 이후 질적연구가 소폭 늘었지만 2018년 최대 5편이 게재된 것을 제외하고는 아예 선택되지 않거나 한 해 1~2편 정도만 게재됐다.

넷째, 통계방법은 제주대학교 교육대학원 교육학과 상담심리학전공이 증설된 초반에는 프로그램 효과를 보기 위한 사전-사후 t검증 방법을 사용했으며, 이후 변인 간 상관 및 인과 관계를 보기 위한 상관분석 및 회귀 분석 방법에 집중되고 있음을 확인했다. 2014년 이후에는 구조방정식을 사용하여 다변인간 인과관계를 분석하는 흐름을 보였다.

이상의 연구결과로 제주대학교 교육대학원 교육학과 상담심리전공 석사학위 논문의 연구주제, 연구대상, 연구방법, 통계방법의 흐름이 지속적으로 변화되고 있음을 확인하였다. 특히 연구대상의 다양성과 통계방법의 변화는 상담현장에서 실제 과제를 풀어내고자 하는 연구자들의 노력으로 해석된다. 상담학은 실제를 바탕으로 한 연구이므로 보다 더 확대된 시선의 창의적 연구 노력이 앞으로도 이어지길 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trends of the master's degree thesis in counseling psychology at Jeju National University Graduate School of Education and explore academic identity. To this end, we have established a research problem as follows. Research Question 1. How is the research topic trend of the thesis on master's degree at Jeju National University Graduate School of Education? Research Question 2. What is the trend of the thesis on the master's degree at Jeju National University Graduate School of Education? Research Question 3. What is the trend of research methods in the thesis on master's degree at Jeju National University Graduate School of Education? Research Question 4. How is the statistical method trend of the master's degree thesis at Jeju National University Graduate School of Education? To achieve the purpose of this study, a total of 390 papers were conducted from September 1995 to August 2020, when a master's thesis on counseling psychology was first published, in accordance with research topics, research subjects, research methods, and statistical methods. Based on the analysis results of this study, the summary of the findings is as follows. First, 177 personality and adaptation studies (45%) were studied, followed by 108 performance studies (28%), and 45 career and aptitude studies (12%). All other studies appear to be less than 10%, confirming that counseling research areas are concentrated on specific topics such as personality and adaptation studies. Second, 100 (25%) out of 386 papers, excluding 4 papers without subjects, were targeted at elementary school students. It was followed by 60 middle and high schools (15 percent), 55 high schools (14 percent), 46 adults (11 percent) and 37 college students (9 percent). Except for cases where there is more than one subject, the least number of studies were conducted on counselors in a single subject. Third, 370 (95%) of the total 390 studies were concentrated on quantitative studies, while only 18 (4%) were conducted on qualitative studies and 2 (1%) on mixed studies. Quantitative research has maintained a ratio of more than 90% every year, and qualitative research has increased slightly since 2015, but only one or two were selected or published a year except for up to five in 2018. Fourth, it was confirmed that in the early stages of the expansion of the Department of Education and Counseling Psychology at Jeju National University's Graduate School of Education, the pre-post-t verification method was used to see program effects. Since 2014, we have shown the flow of analyzing multidimensional causality using structural equations. The above findings confirmed that the trend of research topics, research subjects, research methods, and statistical methods in the master's degree thesis in counseling psychology at Jeju National University's Graduate School of Education has continued to change. In particular, the diversity of subjects and changes in statistical methods are interpreted as researchers' efforts to solve real challenges at the counseling site. Since counseling is a practical study, we hope that creative research efforts with a wider perspective will continue in the future.
